Movies for everyone

I watched a movie last night. Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, and Bob Oldenkirk were in it. So ironic - was amazed by it's relevance. God help us.

Title of movie, The Post.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a look. Certainly a great cast.

Doesn't need to be. It's posted in General Chat: "Similar to "Cheers" format, don't take anything too seriously. Come hang out, meet your friends."

Well done.. both a cleverly cloaked political commentary and a religious testament in only ten words.

Watch "Explorers" and "Mars Attacks"
Warning... Involves illegal aliens.
Both great movies for the whole family!

Gordon2;
Bless your heart!
Thanks for your two cents worth!

OOPS! They say "In God We Trust" right on them!

Oh! and "The Post" is a propaganda film.

I would believe you can find a hidden agenda in any movie or TV show if you have a vivid enough imagination
One could view “ The Post “ as a dramatic documentary since it was based on individuals and events that actually existed / happened .
I enjoyed the movie , probably because I am a fan of Tom Hanks movies except for “ Joe and the Volcano “ — Everyone makes mistakes.

Many if not most films, books, etc. convey to some extent the social, political, scientific and other opinions and interpretations of the author, producer, director, actor, etc. That's not the same thing as a propaganda piece, produced for the primary purpose of swaying the broad public opininion for political dominance. There's a wide gulf between Hermann Goering and Tom Hanks.

You are right... its not!

Tom Hanks was an actor in this film, and a good one at that!
What films did Goering star in?
Shouldn't that comparison be between Goebbels and Spielberg?

If you like. But a film is a joint product of the producer, the director, and the actor(s) and to greater or lesser degrees is influenced by all the above. Sure. Just substitute Spielberg.

Not at all, but as pointed out I should have said Goebbels instead of Goering.
Goebbels was head of Nazi propaganda. I often make that mistake and should have checked first.

Notice the "Rommel" comment was in response to MyronL'S picture, since Rommel was the "Desert Fox"!

If I recall ...Goering was more like the "Dessert Fox" being a reputed fatso.
