If Covid holds you in the East, and you enjoy Bluegrass, check out " Pickin in the Pasture" i late August in the finger lakes.

T Y V M as the dynamics of this pandemic are still unknown and this festival is not more than a few hours from our NY camp. A westward trip is still tentative until we know we can breath without substantial risk. While I am not a fan of Bluegrass, I do appreciate Bluegrass festivals due to their ability to attract skilled camp and parking lot pickers. I appreciate any opportunity to play with skilled players regardless of genre.

At least until the fires start, the air is better out here than over there! Assuming you want mostly travel and camp, it's perfectly safe.
My hope is that for those of a retired age, by late summer you'll all have had your vaccine shots and can safely gather. The rest of us may have to wait a bit longer, but we'll get there.

Thanks. I have already had the vaccine since I qualified at 70. My wife is 62 and has not had the jab.
I would have to believe the air is cleaner in the NW than here with out the problem of over population. We just do not want to be away from home if one of us gets sick. It is reassuring to know we are near our doctors and friends/family that could drop food and supplies off on our door step if the need arises. We watched my sister and brother-in-law almost die with it. Incidentally, they are younger than me and quite healthy without a compromised immune system.

That's a very good point.
I had friends cancel a Christmas trip to Hawaii, not because they were especially worried about getting sick, but because if for some reason they were forced to quarantine, quarantining in a hotel or vrbo in Hawaii with two little girls for 14 days...while there are worse places it could happen, there are also much less expensive places. Didn't seem worth it to them.
That would also be difficult with one partner having the vaccine and the other not.

Don't know if all do, but some festivals have cancelled when smoke became a problem. I am thinking of the Sisters, OR festival where this has happened.
I think Winlock may be on. I'll check. It hadn't been cancelled for this year the last time I checked.
Got a survey from the Goldendale people asking who would attend this year.
I'm totally vaccinated and good to go now.
