Trailer: No Trailer Yet
Posts: 2
Hello All! I am new to your forum and hope that you all can help me out. I have had a tent trailer and 34' coach but am now looking for a fiberglass trailer. I like the idea of a small, efficient trailer that is light for towing. My tow vehicle is a 2004 dodge grand caravan with a 3.8 litre, class 3 hitch and tow package with tranny cooler. I would like an older model due to financial constraints (and I think they are cooler!).

Here's the catch: I am 6'3", my wife is 5'10" and we have 2 dogs and a 1 year old. So we need a trailer with two decent sized beds. They can be on the skinny side, but they need to be long(ish). I would like a small bathroom/shower and a simple kitchen.

What brands/models should I be looking for that can accomidate my needs?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks all!

-Richard

You should be able to find a nice used 17' Bigfoot, but your tow vehicle is on the light side for it. The Bigfoot is a great trailer but they are a little on the heavy side. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

probably a Bigfoot or fiber stream? when i was looking we had the same problem and opted for a porta potty in exchange for a large bed. good luck on the search. you can also search bed sizes and there is a great list of the models sizes. this site is an awesome resource. and the people here are super friendly. i bought my trailer through this site from another state!

Here's a couple of links to some topics you may want to read:
Bed Sizes, there's a chart about 3/4 down on the first page. It's not complete however.

and Family Friendly Floor Plans

Welcome by the way, you'll find lots of answers from friendly people here

Richard,
The Trillium 5500 is 18 feet long
Height inside is 6' 3" and 6' 5" for the length of the bed. (I am 6' 3" and it works for me)
There are 2 RV Full Size beds ( one in the front and one in the back)
They made some with a fully self contained bathroom w/ shower
If you go under referrals you will find a couple that I think are on Kijiji, Craigslist.

Good Luck,

Dave ,

What is the width of the bed in a Trillium 5500?

What is the weight?

Thanks!

Dana,
The width is 47" for both the front and back beds

The length is 6' 5"

The GVW weight is approx. 2,000 lbs.
Some will say dry weight is approx. 1,850 lbs.

I hope that helps you!

Thanks for the help all. The trillium seems like a winner. I would prefer to have a bathroom w/shower. So, now the hunt begins.

Be forwarned that there were only 65 or so Trillium 5500's ever made. They don't come up all that often. One was posted in the referalls last week in Ontario.
