Need Florida advice

In a couple of weeks we're heading into Florida. I lived there when I was a kid but left there 65 years ago so any memories aren't worth much. Looking for a place that would usually be warm enough to sit outside after dark sometimes but don't want to go south of about Tampa unless necessary. Thanks

Starting the end of January we are leaving the campground we are at in GA and doing both coasts of Florida to find the answer to this question.

I live halfway between Tampa and Orlando, near new Legoland. It's going to be cold tomorrow (60) and warm to 80 next week. Our weather swings wildly from day to day in the winter. Just keep an eye on the reports on TV or 'net.

We've been here in FL since early December, mostly in the northeast and north-central parts. Christmas at Stephen Foster Folk Cultural SP was awesome. But, it's been too chilly most nights to sit out by the fire. Now we're on the road, heading south to Collier-Seminole in Naples. If we could have reserved a stay on the Keys, we would have, but those state parks are booked within seconds of opening the reservation window. We've been to Florida in the winter before and as a general rule, in January you'll want to be south of Tampa if you're looking to sitting out at night. Then as winter moves toward spring, you can gradually move north. That's our strategy... Fort Clinch in March.
