Thought others may find this interesting since it has some fiberglass in it. New 2008 hilo 15 foot model introduced.

Interesting. It has the classic rear-entry layout of the smaller eggs (such as the Compact), in a larger size.

Two particularly interesting specs:

The weight is 90% of the weight of my 17' Boler, but the trailer is missing the second bed. It's hard to see how this is a good thing.

The height is shown as 71". Since that's less than 6', either
  • that's the interior height when open, in which case it's not tall enough; or,
  • that's the exterior height when closed down, in which case it's stupidly tall for a folding trailer with a design specifically for height reduction (less air drag than a rigid travel trailer, but still can't see over it).
I know some people really like the Hi-Lo, but even if the construction were all moulded fiberglass, I would not be interested.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

They look good in their brochures. The 17-9 Has an interior height of 74' and a king sized bed. but the side door might create a problem for the cook. The rest are too big for us.

74'. You would need more than a king size bed for who ever is that tall.

The website talks about a bunk bed; there are no pictures showing it in place but I'll bet it's the boxy-looking thing on the ceiling above the dining area.

It is pretty heavy, though.

We looked at the Hi-Lo's when we decided to move up from a pop up camper. But opted for a Casita, we thought if we were going to make the upgrade we wanted something that you could park and walk into. We have eaten some nice meals on the road by just picking up something at a Subway and eating in the egg. Hi-Lo's are great if you have wind resistance to worry about but you loose the "walk in" anytime option.
