I haven't looked, but if you find one, let me know. A new one might just be cheaper than sandblasting and repainting my old one which is showing its 9 years in the humid South with some trips to the salty sea-mist Gulf Coast. I'm not much on mixing decimals with inches, but I measure my cover as 17 3/4" wide by 15 3/4" high.

Oh no! A field find. I wonder what the Build number is? For Egg it is the last three digits of serial number. There may be 140 eggs. Some indication EggCamper plans to restart production.

IMHO - I would not let the issue of vent cover stop you if it is otherwise rehab possible. You could change shape of opening a little to fit a new cover. Our PO got rid of original AC and had roof reinforced for rooftop AC. So where AC used to be is a storage cubby with opening to outside and inside. Rehabbing a Fiberglass trailer that has seen better days can be a creative endeavor with multiple ways to solve most problems.

You are looking for a 16x14 grille. Available on HD on-line. Verify measurements. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...6X14/300539596

Some people remove the grill and replace with a compartment cover, there is a lot of space in there that is useful when the a/c is not being used.

Does that mean you have to leave the compartment cover open when you run the A/C, or do you cut vents into the cover?

Please let me know if it fits, especially if using the old screw holes. Unfortunately, I fear it will be too small.

Grille

Grille's are sold by duct size. The outside size is found in the specification's section.

Your choice, leave open or install vents in the cover. But with a/c I'd leave open for unobstructed air flow.

I replaced our EggCamper grill cover with one purchased from Home Depot several years ago. Jim Palmer (who designed and built the EggCampers) told me where to purchase it. Perfect fit!

Pretty sure it would not cool at all without vents. Might not even cool with vents. My Lite House has a little window-style AC under the seats, and a louvered (vented) exterior door over the AC compartment. The one and only time I have used the AC it struggled to emit any cool air operating with the vented outside door closed. After I propped open the compartment door it cooled fine.

Steve, I think Jim’s idea is to leave the hatch cover propped open when the A/C is in use (see post #10). That would provide better air movement than the OEM grille. I’d be kind of concerned myself about rain and critters if you forget to close it.

Dale, we spray painted our cover black (when we were replacing the 5000 btu AC with an 8000 btu). This was a few years ago, and it still looks good.

You expect me to remember something 60+ posts ago?

Makes sense.

We are anxiously watching the site for information. We like the idea of the double shell, and clean walls. No propane isn't a deal breaker for us. I was thinking that it looked for awhile like Scamp, Casita and Escape were going to have competition, but with Lil' Snoozy and Parkliner going down, this would be a great time for EggCamper to make a comeback.

I believe the only other double-shelled being produced is Oliver, and that is a bite "overdone" for our taste and pocketbook.

I do not think it is a true double hull. There is the exterior and there are interior fiberglass sections, open the o/h cabinets and it is single hull, open the closet and it is single hull. The bath is double as is the visible part of the rear, the kitchen underneath is also single as is the floor. Unless they have changed their production, the use of the original was/is single hull construction.
