Trailer: Eco 12 ft
Posts: 38
Howdy all,

My wife and I just bought a '73 ECO 12' egg, She decided we weren't sleeping in the back of the truck anymore, and I decided we weren't banging around in some big awkward beast, I do enough of that driving a semi for work.

It's a solid old beast, but suffering from years (decades???) of serious neglect, the trailer hadn't moved in ~7 years, and nobody can remember the last time it was actually used.
Other than a slightly sprung door seal, its quite well sealed, TOO well sealed in fact.
I've got a handle on rebuilding the "trailer" part, already have redone the tires, wheel
bearings, redoing the wiring right now.

The RV part (furnace, fridge, hotel power) is proving a little more problemmatic , but more on that later.

Anyhow, a little background on us, we're fairly young (23), just got married last March, but have been traveling the country together for almost 5 years. I'm an interstate truck driver for United Van Lines (the mover folks), and she's a business student and manager at Wal-Mart. We've traveled all over the western US, and really love going "off the map", so to speak, traveling byroads, backroads, and no roads to get from here to there.

Look forward to learning about our new toy, and learning about you all.

Matt & Crystal

Matt & Crystal,
We're glad you found this forum. The biggest thing we have to share is insight into fixing and improving fiberglass travel trailers (FGTT's). Many of us actually have "been there, done that". Beyond that, you'll have to hunt far and wide to find a friendlier group of folks.
I suspect your adventures have entered a new phase.
Enjoy the process!

Donna- no pics yet, I might have to shanghia my buddy's digicam. It's almost identical to the ECO in the album, except for a houshold style A/C unit cut into the back window, above the dinette, and infinitly uglier (household latex cream over grey exterier, cream and bright green interior) No name for it yet, I've not even named the Travelall that will be leading it around
