Looks like Scamp is posting some great new videos.
Good work Scamp! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ARE STILL TELLING PEOPLE THAT CONCRETE FLOORS DESTROY BATTERIES.

Neat video. I'm disappointed to see they're still making those ridiculous claims about Reflectix's insulation value, though :/

I had the same thought about the battery part.

I like the new door hinges and screen door. 😄 This year I'm going to need to do some refresh work to mine,10 years old. Hmm maybe a trip to MN?

I’d skip the new hinges. They’ve had multiple failures due to stress cracks in the hinge body. One person with a year-old Scamp had the whole door fall off on the highway while towing.

Official explanation is a bad batch of hinges. My opinion is misalignment of the hinge pins puts a twisting stress on the hinge every time the door swings open and closed. The old ball hinge is a better design for the application.

Good point, Jon. I second that.

I've had my 2019 Scamp for over a year now, taken it down to Florida from Michigan and stayed for over 2 months, living in the Scamp the entire time, so it has seen some use. I have had zero problems with the hinges. I do inspect them regularly due to the early problems. I think and hope that the issue has been adequately addressed. I guess only time will tell for sure.

I do hope you're right, of course. Even if the new hinges prove to last decades like the old, I still think the ball hinge is a better design, less visually intrusive, not to mention stunning when polished as Ian Giles did on his Boler.

Darrell, if you do swap to the new hinges, shoot me a PM. I'd love to buy your old ones!

But then, I like my bread truck door handle, too!
