New Scamps Available now for Delivery

Hi! I got a letter from Scamp saying they have trailers available now or Spring delivery. Isnt that highly unusual to have them ready immediately? I thought the normal delivery time was a few months after placing an order. Ya think it's just b/c of the season and does this happen every year?

They have doubled their build capacity since the fire.
Prefire wait time was usually 6-8 weeks for standards and much more for deluxe trailers.
Prefire production was limited to about 400 per year, they now have two lines running and they build a few non ordered 13's as fill-ins for efficiency.
As for whether it happens every year.... the new factory has only been up and running for three years, perhaps a little soon for generalities, but they have regularly had a few unsolds on and off since start-up.

Thanks, Floyd. I didnt realize they have 2 lines running now. Glad to hear that and it's not due to the current economic conditions. I kindof figured the ones that are ready now would be 13's since that seems to be the most popular size. It looks like the 16 foot side bath/front bunks has become a rare animal so they might have to blow the cobwebs off that mold for us, lol.

perhaps they had order cancellations? Would seem that that is possible with the economy the way it is. Folks order and then can't follow through.

The ones for Spring delivery sound like maybe they haven't been built yet. It's months until Spring. There's plenty of time to build... unless they're going to winter them over. Could be a hook to get people to order now for Spring delivery, which would keep their workers employed through the winter .... hummmm

About this time last year I ran across a sight (Rvtrader maybe?) that had new Casitas for sale at the factory. They were all 17' dlx. Various models. All around $16k-17k. Later I read that when Casita runs out of orders they make a few for immediate delivery to keep the workers working instead of laying them off. Perhaps Scamp is doing they same?
