Nicest truck over camper I have ever seen.

I was camping this week when across from our site the nicest looking and equipped truck camper pulled in. I talked briefly to the owner and he told me it was indeed a fibreglass made from two pieces. It has a dry weight of 2800 pounds with a side and rear awning, solar panel on top, looked like top design and construction. He purchased it in Portland and it made by a company in British Columbia. He had it in a Ford Super Duty with dual wheels which he said did help in minimises the side to side sway on the road. Classy rig!

Used slide in Bigfoot truck campers are generally priced much less than the trailers. If I were in the market I would try to find one. I have a bumper pull flatbed car hauler trailer that would be perfect to carry one.

It was a Northern Lite. he told me that they don't make many? He ordered this new from a dealer in Portland. Like Scamp they evidently had to rebuild after a fire.

It's not all molded fiberglass, but as truck campers go, I think the Arctic Fox is the nicest I've seen. Aluminum frame/superstructure, and lots of insulation. Several models have a slideout and are quite roomy. It would however require a pretty stout truck, since it has a dry weight of over 3300 lbs. The larger Northern-Lites come in about 600 lbs lighter.
