Trailer: 1996 Casita Freedom Deluxe 17 ft

After lurking around here for months and months, I finally found a 1996 Casita Freedom 17' up in the Colorado mountains and brought it back down to Denver today. It's in great condition and the two owners before me much not have used it much. The interior and upholstery looks pretty close to new. The fiberglass still has a shine to it. There a p-trap that needs to be replaced and the previous owner is shipping me some new front jack stands, but those shouldn't be major problems. I've spent the last few weeks turning my 2007 Escape 6 cylinder into a TV and done all the wiring together with a friend. So I'm psyched. Can't wait to take it out on the road.

Congrats! And welcome to the wonderful world of "glass" Enjoy!

As for the P-trap, you can call Casitas 1-800 and ask for the service dept. Can't rememeber the guys name, but super cool and gets parts out to you pronto! I looked everywhere from Lowes, HD, and everyother hardware store I could think of and the didn't have a rubber p-trap. Had rubber J-traps but not P. In Denver you may have a better chance than I had in Greeley but it wasn't worth driving around any more than I had already looking for it. And Casita was quick at shipping it out. Again, Congrats!

Terry

You can probably get the p-trap at Ketelsen off I-70 and Kipling (I think it's on 48th). Most of their repair and service parts are in a warehouse, not on display, but if you ask at the counter they'll find it. I've had good luck getting everything I needed to build out the EggCamper. They also have a good printed catalog and a great online catalog. You can check them out at www.wegocamping.com.

Good luck with your new Casita.

Anyway, here's a picture of the rig. I bought the unit in Silverthorne which means I had to immediately head up one of the worst grades in Colorado if not the US. The West approach to the Eisenhower Tunnel is pretty steep and it's not unusual to see a lot of broken-down RV's along the way. My Escape made a steady 45 or 50 all the way up with no problems.

Great find Terry! Nice looking trailer. 70 going east is a brezzzzzzzzzzzze! I guess cause I have traveled it a bazillion times. So for me thats a little bump in the road. Going down the other side with everyone riding my bumper now that's a different story.

So how is the overall shape of the interior? Looks like you bought yourself a nice trailer. Enjoy!
