No winter for California
The Forest Service has finally closed my favorite ATV riding areas because of snow.
The sad thing is there's only about a foot of snow when there should be 4 or 5 feet and soggy dirt roads.
The first picture is of my all time favorite place to ride to.
It's Sherman Peak elevation 9670 feet.
In normal years there's 4 or 5 feet of snow.
The second picture is of Awahnee Meadow in Yosemite with Half Dome in the background.
Until this last series of storms there was no snow on top of Half Dome.
Both pictures pics were grabs from the National Weather Service.
The Yosemite picture was taken today.
Sherman peak was last Tuesday but there's only maybe another today.
Lake Isabella is down to about 13% capacity and maybe 20 % of it's normal size.
John
I sympathize with you on the east coast and the misery you're going through.
I wish we could take some of that snow here in California
