On our way to SC

Left with our Parkliner yesterday morning from the northern Catskills. Stayed at a Walmart in VA last night after driving through one of the heaviest rainfalls I have ever experienced. Very heavy duty. Temp dropped from 90 to 70 in 10 minutes!

Have seen two eggs on the road, both going north. Unnamed one yesterday (looked like our Parkliner), then a smaller Scamp today.

We're on our way to Huntington beach state park in SC for the week. Will return next weekend. Doing good.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend!

Huntington Beach

Hi Frank
We sure enjoyed that park and campground when we visited there four years ago. Beautiful beach, went on a birdwatching walk, and in the evening took in a couple seafood restaurants that were very tasty. Hope you have good weather and hope to see you at Niagara Falls in September.

We stayed at HBSP last month for 6 nights and loved it. Great birding, toured amazing Brook Green Garden with thousands of sculptures, great seafood restaurants. We were in the old section (large sites and green space) 3 nights then the new section that had just opened 2 weeks prior (small sites, but new bathroom and short walk to beach).

Huntington Beach State Park

Hope it cools down a little for your week, it's hot here now! As is usual, we went from winter to summer here in SC!! Make sure you visit Brookgreen Gardens, across Hwy 17 from the park (slightly south). All the property there and HBSP were all owned and named for Anna Hyatt Huntington, famous sculptor. The admission ticket is good for one week. You can also tour the ruins of Atalaya, the home of the Huntingtons, which is in the park Also visit the Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet, a few miles north for fun and great seafood. Georgetown and Hobcaw Barony are also worth visiting, lots of history. You can take a ghost tour from Georgetown as well. Of course, the beaches are the star of the park. Have fun!

Thanks Dave. Yes, we plan on being at the Niagara Escape rally at least one day and night. Normally we do something else that weekend, but bagged it for this year. See you there!

Not sure what section we're in. Site 38. Just got done setting up camp. Cool but warm place! Big motorcycle thing going on in Myrtle Beach while we're here. Lots of cool bikes around.

Check out the Rice Museum if you go to Georgetown. Lots of local history.

We have stayed at Huntington Beach every year for the last 7. Either in November or March on our way north or south. We like Charlie's Studio Cafe, which is a little north of the campground. Had Thanksgiving dinner one year at Brookgreen, great meal but expensive. Also did Charlies for Thanksgiving another year. Did not get a look in the new section to the south of the camp store when we were there in March as it was blocked off. It's actually an older section that was destroyed in a hurricane, now resurrected.

Lots of eggs here

We're in sight distance of a Scamp and a Casita. There's also a huge Bigfoot truck camper we've had drive by on our oop road.

We're here during bike week, which means Harleys. We Just came back from town. They're all over the place, and a bunch at our campground. I did not know when we made the reservations that it was bike week, but that's okay. I love Harleys!
