I "discovered" a model I'd not heard of before. It's a Euopean model, so the chances of seeing one in North America are pretty small, but here it is.
The Roma Romini:

Very similar to the new Cabin A, LLC from Aliner or the Twist.
I saw these just outside of Minneaplois, Very nice but small.

I have been inside a Twist. I can see a market for it, but would frankly rather find a used CJ for this floorplan.

Looks like the Euros have one. It actually looks more like a litehouse or little joe. There are no divisions between the kitchen and closet sections.

There is a UK owners club for the fiberglass Romahomes, mostly mini-motorhomes: Roma Club There are some photos of the Romini trailer, but the ones you've posted are better!

And anyone who thinks that Scamp motorhome discussed recently is small should go look at the 'demountable' version (ie, truck camper) of the Romahome that fits on the tiny Japanese mini-trucks....

That Romahome sure is cute.





I was told that the portapotty was designed to be set up in the back of the truck - when you set up camp, you'd slightly lift the camper, pull the truck ahead a few feet, then place the potty in the space between the cab and camper body, and install curtains for privacy.

Biggest drawback is the anemic power in the truck, I guess - they're only good for 50 - 60 mph on the highway, and less in the hills from whay I understand.

They look almost like Toyota Chinooks. (molded fiberglass little Class C motor home campers from the 70's) If they had made them with power steering, I would still be driving mine. Shoulder injury forced me to sell it !! I had 5 of them over the years, with different floor plans, and owned one of them twice.

Those trucks are tiny! I can't imagine how small this camper must be! In all the times I've been to Italy, I've never seen this camper and I am always on the lookout for them.

Considering how narrow the streets can be over there, smallness is a plus. And, Europeans and the UK have been more for gas than we have for a very long time. This makes a lot of sense not only for Europeans but for us in North American as well.

Yeah, and the examples above have the 'big' molded fiberglass bodies added to them. You can now buy a motorhome conversion of just the basic van:





Just to be clear, this van is 18" shorter and 8" narrower than a Geo Metro.
