Our 1977 Trillium is on its way!

Finally!

Last year, during our first camping trip with our two toddlers, I saw a Boler and just had to have one. We've been shopping for a year now for a Boler with no luck and then, just a few nights ago, I found a 1977 13' Trillium in Quebec...8 hours driving from Halifax, Nova Scotia! So my husband left at 4:30am this morning and should be here in the next hour or so! So far, he's had to replace a lightbulb...and a fuse...here we go!

Thanks to everyone on this forum for immediate answers and helpful advice over the past year...so much appreciated!

There are a few names on the table already:

My 2 year old thinks 'Onion' would be a good name...again, she's 2.

My 4 year old chose 'Marshmallow' - cute, related to camping...

I think 'Molar' would be appropriate given my year long obsession with the Boler and it looks like a molar to me, kinda...

...what do you think?

By the way, I took a closer look at your Boler restoration last night...great job! Surely, I can do something cute with this little trailer...I know the girls are going to love it!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Already we have decided that our two little ones will sleep together on the lower bunk...with a pillow at each end...they both add up to the perfect length! I'll keep you posted on that one...expecting a few issues...'Greta's kicking me!'

How do people get up on the higher bunk? I can't imagine without a ladder...maybe a 6 year old could climb up. My girls are only 2 1/2 and 4 years old.

Does anyone actually use the top bunk for sleeping?

My boys take turns sleeping on the top bunk...They love it!
I need to build some sort of ladder to make it easier for them, for now they climb up using the counter/stove area as step...Not ideal but it works! We also use a colapsable bed rail to keep them from rolling off the top bunk. We store the rail under the bottom bunk cushion when not in use.
Pretty soon my boys will be too heavy to sleep on the top bunk and we will have to come up with a more sturdy support system for the top bunk or it's out in the tent for them!

Congratulations on your 'new' Trillium. It is a nice looking unit. I well remember the excitement getting that first egg caused in our house.

In case you missed the advice, make your first 'camp out' in your driveway so that you have the support of your house in case you forget something.
