Trailer: 1986 19 ft Bigfoot

Last week we went to Canada to pickup our new (1986) 19' Bigfoot.....

We had a great trip and had the pleasure to meet Len who is an very nice fellow and extremely knowledgeable Bigfoot fan.

The trailer is in great shape, just needed some outside polishing (has not been used much in over a year or so)

We have spent 5 days, de-oxidizing, polishing, waxing and removing the aging decals and we are exhausted.

Our next step is to upgrade the water heater with an Atwood ( electronic ignition), make our own decal design and re-cover the cushions & curtains.

We are planing to go to the WA and OR coast in May. We can't wait....

Here are some pictures of our progress:

PS: The awning is in good shape but does not slide very easily, what do you use for lubricant (paraffin?)

Cheers,

Frederic

Shane n,

Thanks, yes we are doing a lot of thinking. This is our second Bigfoot project, we had a 17' that we restored last year. It helps to have had some previous experience but the 19' is so much bigger we got a bit overwhelmed at first with the polishing process....

Looking forward to do some updating inside but these are, usually, very time consuming.

Cheers,

Frederic

Frederic,

I assume you mean the awning [b]arms do not slide well. Try spraying with silicone spray lubricant. If that doesn't help, it's possible the arms are bent slightly; kids love to swing on the arms when they're extended.

Morgan,

Thanks for the tip. The arms are not bent, it's just that it has not been used for a while and it needs some TLC.

hello,

Just installed today an aluminum box, a friend made for me, for he Honda generator.

The top of the box can be used as a table when upside-down.

Also installed the remote switch and wiring for the new water heater coming tomorrow...
