Ownership, how long?

Since tomorrow, October 30, marks my 18th anniversary with my Scamp 13', got me wondering how long others have owned their little palaces. Is there others out there with 18 years or more with their trailers? I have loved every mile criss-crossing this great country of ours and making more and more memories as I go. My trailer is a 1983, so was 10 years old when I got it. I am the third owner and have taken exceptional care of it. In fact, I am asked once in the while if it is "New". Anyway, here are some pictures of my latest outing last weekend at Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix, AZ. Had great weather, a campfire, and a nice hike up into the mountains too. So, how long have you owned your trailers?

Four or five years with our 17' Uhaul. Prior to that, we had our 13' Burro. Loved both, but happy to have a bathroom.

Bought our first camper with inheritance money from my grandmother in 2005. Grandma's gift changed our lives.

RIP Grandma and Dad, whose inheritance it would have been.

Seven and a half years so far with our 2004 Scamp 13 deluxe.
Eggy-Sue (the pull-it surprize). She follows our 1973 LoveBug.
We stepped up in order to get a larger bed and a shower.
We love the rich feel of the custom oak interior as well and
we expect to keep it at least until we are no longer able to travel.

we've had OSOKOZY for 5 wonderful years. although it was new when we bought it in 2006, it is a 2004. we LOVE everything about it and have zero intentions of ever getting rid of it....an inheritance for one of the boys, i guess.

We are relative newcomers....not quite a year yet...that will be at the end of December.

She's a 2003 that we purchased from the original owners, who were in their 70's when they bought it.

We hope to travel in Li'l Scamp till we can't travel no more.

Westward travel on our agenda after I retire in May. "Put a little gravel in our travel" (from Rodney Atkin's song "Take a Back Road)

Congrats on owning yours for 18 years...she's a beaut and so is the scenery.

Our son picked our Scamp up for us in Aug. 2005 & delieved it to us mid-way between Minot, ND & Las Cruces, NM on the Labor Day Week-end in Sept. of the same year. Therefore, I would say 6 years.

We have three campers, a 1973 Starcraft popup that we bought in 1978, a 1946 teardrop purchased and restored in 2007, and a 1984 CT-13 Uhaul that we have owned for only 3 months. The Starcraft has been with us for 33 years !!!! The Uhaul & teardrop will go to our daughter when we can no longer use them, hopefully that's many years from now.

I'm like Joy, bought myself an early Christmas present in 2000. So I too, will be an eleven year owner of my Scamp this December. There are differences between our two trailers... I haven't made all the wonderful modifications Joy has done and mine was used! I'm the third owner.

We brought our '84 Boler home in 1994. A lot of miles, a lot of smiles, a lot of fun, a lot of new found friends. We would do it again.

I bought the Compact Jr. in 2001 and the Fiber Stream in 2004. I sold the CJ in 2005 and bought it back this month.

Had my 13 foot Casita for 3 years. If I could just stretch it to put in a bath I'd keep it as long as I can camp but right now I'm scheming for that forever trailer.

Thanks for all the input folks! My Scamp spent its anniversary on my driveway with a "Spa Day" of sorts. Got a wash and another coat of wax and a fixed a couple of minor problems. It is all prettied up and ready to roll onto the next adventure!

since June 2010. The reason I bought a Scamp was because I don't plan on replacing it. Conventional trailers all leak eventually and rot. These eggs are good for the long haul with a little care, and they can take rough use in stride.

My Bigfoot 19' was a late X-mass/early New Year present to myself way back in ... 2009. So I'm approaching my 2nd anniversary.

Each year I budget for mods to make the trailer easier to use (and keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to spend that money on unforeseen repairs or replacements. This year I'll be working on the gaucho couch-bed and a sound system. Should make winter camping more enjoyable.

I have had my 1978 Boler 1700 for 16 years now. However, my Bigfoot 21 RB was purchased on Aug 1/11 and so the Boler will soon be for sale.
