Permanent chocks

One of my summer of covid-19 projects was to make permanent concrete chocks. The forms, made from scrap strand board, measure 4" high, 4" at the top, 6" at the bottom, and are 28" long. Plastic pipe forms the anchor holes. I added two pieces of 2' re-bar to the concrete for each chock and coated the inside of the form with a mixture of 50% vegetable oil and 50% mineral oil at a release agent. Each chock used 2/3 of an 80 lb bag of concrete mix. Tapping the sides of the form removed air pockets giving a smooth surface. Each is anchored to the ground with re-bar. Living in the frozen north, I caulked the top to keep water from getting in, expanding, and cracking the concrete. They seem to work well and don't catch the stabilizers. The local inspector came and approved the installation.

A building inspector had to sign off on that? I assume there was a permit, too?

No, they don't need a permit. They pretty much come and go as they please.

So do you lug these camping ?
Or is it a fixed location ....
I cannot imagine hauling these everywhere

Ok I just reread ... looks like a permanent installation based on the rebar

Ours are swamped with real work. Yours must be like Maytag repairmen. 😆

Scamps are so light, some ballast might be useful on windy days. A couple of days ago, I heard that two trailers or RVs were blown over on CR93 between Golden and Boulder!

inspectors tend to be shot out there especially in the fall. she is really taking her chances. looks like you need to level that pad too. since I assume that is a semi permanent place.
