Photos from the 2016 RVIA Trade Show In Louisville

Just got home from the from the 2016 RVIA Trade Show In Louisville. Attached are some pictures for your enjoyment of some of the more interesting trailers that might be of interest to the Fiberglass Egg crowd.

The neatest "Concept" was shown by a small company out of Atlanta that is now making food trailers in the form of a fiberglass shell shaped like an old Volkswagen van. They were soliciting interest as they intend to build trailers for the camper market with a very similar shell design.

The trailer's that interested me the most were shown by HYMER (European Company) as "Concept" trailers as these trailers are not yet spec'd for the US market. Hymer's plan is to have these trailer's available next spring for sale in the USA. VERY WELL built and superb European design. They are all lightweight at less than 2,500 lbs.

Also included are pictures of the two Airstream Basecamp trailer's shown by Airstream and a few other trailers I found unique.

ENJOY!!

I wonder what the Dubbox company thinks of the VW trailers.

Probably just about what Boler thought about all the knock-offs from their design. I like this trailer better than the dub-box.

RV show

Mike Thanks for the pics of the RV show. The pop up looks a lot like an Eriba Puck or today's Meerkat. I have always liked the European "vans" as they seem to have very neat styling much more so than our American styling. LEE

Great pics

Thanks for sharing. I would consider either the VW replica, or the British import. I'd prefer products from American factories. Not to argue, or even invite one, but yes, numerous foreign labels have high domestic content, and sometimes vice versa.

That Heartland trailer is beautiful and looks well built. I'll bet it would be a BEAR to tow judging from the retro shape.

That VW trailer looks like it has four wheels. Are they fake with a real wheel under that display board?

Ascape...Come-on, cute but poorly named, could have been more creative!

The Basecamp still looks like a medieval knight's helmet fresh out of a Monty Python skit!! (or a trailer for his horse)

Looking for an RV that looks like a Pinto? A Corvair?

There was always something about that design I couldn't put a finger on. I think you nailed it Floyd, a medieval helmet .

The Heartland looks like a 1961 Holiday House Replica. There's a huge resurgence in classic travel trailers. It may sell well. Here's the real thing.

The Heartland "Retro" trailer was GREAT on the exterior and a HUGE MISS on the interior.

Nothing retro in the interior at all not even a spec red color.

Until Heartland (THOR) changes the interior of this model sales will be POOR as no "Retro" camper buyer will want a typical THOR (Boring) camper interior!

The inside of this Heartland trailer is a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!

Concerning the VW look trailer and 4 wheels. This model is a shell for their food trailer. They say the camper will be a 2 wheel trailer with a completely new mold with a very similar look.

Expect a 2018 showing at RVIA according to their representative onsite.
