Polished hinges

I just took off my hinges and polished and buffed them up tonight.

Put them back on ...they look great.

Very nice looking, it makes me wish that we had some to brighten up our camper.

I jut ordered the stainless steel bolts, nuts, and springs from Ian G.. I also polished and buffed the door hold back and the belly band.

After that I cleaned up all of the excess caulk that is "smeard" all around the windows, lights, outlets, and rain gutter over the door.

I agree that the polished hinges look great!

However, I'm still trying to get my mind to accept the fact that you took apart the hinges of a new 2016 Scamp! But, it's true that my skills are very limited!

@Bill Nolen

There are only 12 nuts to be removed.
2- on the Door
1 - on the hinge bolt
3- on the trailer side

A couple hours..Sandpaper, elbow grease, polishing compound, mothers, carnauba wax...an there ya' go

I am going to drop the axle, add the 3 inch lift, put 14 inch aluminum wheels on it....how hard can it be? 5 bolts per wheel...2 bolts per side holding the axle on....heck if you were at the factory..if those guys can do it...a 56 yr old scrub like me should certainly be able to handle something like that...

Next is to get the "sewer hose" holder off the front, patch, and re-gel coat....

I have a 6 inch memory foam "therapeutic support surface"...(lol...that's what the new word for a mattress is.....who knew)...with cool gel being made...

Got retro marker lights and vintage bargman lights coming for the outside

BillE, I did alot of mods to my 2010 Scamp (bought new) but MAN...you blow me in the water on your mods and upcoming ones!! LOL Good job and I congratulate you for the gutsy moves!

PLEASE keep us updated as I LOVE this stuff more than the slurpy lovey dovey stuff that's on other topics. This is what I consider just downright hardcore mods !!

LACK OF BACKLOG??? I think Scamp needs to open their eyes as to what people are wanting. Not even a month's backlog and Escape's is over a year???????? That speaks for itself!

Scamp Backlog ...is 8 months

Darral T

The Scamp backlog is actually 8 months. I got lucky ...right place...right time....and had cash,...

I had a fellow forum member p.m. me and told me that they just got a call about a canceled 13 Deluxe. I called up Wayne up there...he emailed me the contract...we went and picked it up.

So my signature is somewhat tongue and cheek...it's true......but, there were special circumstances

Ok...Bill. That was a bit misleading so I retract my statement above and would delete it if I could as it's not accurate. Looks like Scamps (based on another poster) are still selling well....I believe they wont get theirs until August??

My apologies on the "Lack of backlog" statement".
