title of 'Man with the most cooking devices in one camper'.
I think you'll be happy with the Coleman. We use a 413F two burner along with their collapsible oven for most of our camping meals (both from a yard sale in the late sixties when I was in college). Coffee perks on a nineties vintage 533.
Light comes from a couple of fifty year old lanterns - their hissing sound is unmistakable. Coleman's liquid fuel gear has been a big part of camping experience.
Charcoal has its place as well. Grilling is usually done on the Son of Hibachi (also from my school days) and the Cobb does a really good job of smoking when we have more time in camp. I'm getting better with stews and cobblers from the dutch oven but still need more practice.
In fifteen years, the Scamp's stove has only been used for coffee when we've overnighted in a rest area. The
microwave has been fired up a couple of times to nuke a bowl of soup when it was too cold to cook outside.
I don't have any electric or
propane appliances unless you count the Campfire-in-a-Can which makes a pretty mean S'more.
We camp fairly often in the Smokies - Nantahala NF mostly and sometimes Smokemont in the Park. Let us know if you get that far east sometime.
