Further north, and up against the Rocky Mountain foothills, Calgary often sees these wild temperature rises, in the form of warm winds they call "
chinooks". We don't really get them in Edmonton (further out from the mountains), but people here are often jealous of Calgary, because the chinooks can be a nice break. Not quite enough to go camping...
