Since they've already rolled out the 15'er, I'm wondering if they're working on a larger model. Many 17' owners haver expressed a wish for something a little bigger. That would be news indeed, but I'm just speculating. Now that sales have slowed, both Scamp and Casita have more time for product development and seem to be looking for new markets.

Congrats on your new Casita! I'd love to hears your impressions of old vs. new.

Correction to yesterday's post

Checking Scamp's website now, I found over 80 (!) new trailers in inventory, ready to roll.

On RV Trader there are also 47 Oliver Trailers and 31 Cortes trailers listed (many of the Cortes have been listed for years), only 7 new casitas so apparently Casita is outselling other manufacturers who's prices are astronomical.

RVTrader is mostly dealers, so Casita, Scamp, Escape, and other factory-direct brands typically only appear when a used unit is taken on trade or consignment by a dealer. Oliver and Cortes do sell through dealers. I didn't know Casita listed their stock inventory there- is that what I'm understanding?

Scamp is offering $2-3K discounts on unsold 2024 units (mostly 16'ers, I noticed) alongside a large inventory of buy-now 2025s. Casita is offering some unusually generous early season deal-sweeteners for new factory orders.

Seems like the current market is challenging for everyone as housing and transportation costs eat into disposable income and the Boomer retirement wave is tapering off.

Casita usually has several ads on RV Trader advertising different models available to custom order, hence no specific vin number listed, only a stock number.
The Oliver and Cortes units sold through dealers are specific units with their vin number listed.

It looks like the covid buying frenzy is over and people are being careful with spending habits and looking much closer at details on trailers such as a $50,000 trailer that has a very small refrigerator and the chore of converting a table to a bed each day, little storage, etc.

When we took delivery of our SD a year ago we were told there's possibly a slightly larger model in the works followed by a sly wink. I tried to dig further for more info but was met with crickets. I was loosely told to expect something in the 19-20' range if it does in fact come to fruition.

That’s about the size I would expect. It allows for longways sleeping and a separate dinette, which is what a lot of folks have asked for. The big question is whether they will also increase the width. An increase to 7' or a bit more would look better and allow rear twins with a decent aisle but requires investment in new molds for some interior components. Tandem axles would be nice.

Agreed! Tandem axles, 19-20' in overall length with another 6-8" in width and a slightly larger bed and side dinette and I'd be smitten. Some might like another 2" in interior height/head room but being under 6' myself it's not a desire. Hopefully it comes to market, I'd consider staying with a Casita if it does.
