Congratulations Jim. More pictures please. Interesting delivery. One hauled and one towed. How was the hauled trailer removed? Raz

Both Escapes were either on a trailer or a truck bed from Chilliwack to Goshen, Indiana, then the trailer was left there for some repairs and the Escape that was on the trailer was unloaded and then towed from Goshen to York,Pa. behind the other Escape. Both Escapes were covered with road grime, too bad they were not shipped liked BMW's, inside containers. More pictures will be forthcoming as I unpack and repack.

Oh you could have arranged for that but the price of cartage would have been much higher..... besides your not a fair weather camper are you? that trailer is going to see a lot more dirty roads isn't it? or are you going to treat it like so many of my BMW friends who refuse to take their car out on the roads when the weather is bad?

I got the extra insulation and 12v heated pads and thermapane windows for winter use. I also got the extra window in the kitchen but asked for an opening one, it is a tiny awning window, perfect for rainy days.

some persons complained that the window in the dinette was too high and they had trouble seeing out while sitting there. I asked Reace and he made my cushions 2" thicker, thus raising my view a little, seen here. Also I got the first Escape 19' with a opening bath window, like the kitchen, but frosted.

I also found out that Dometic and Escape was discontinuing the 5 cu/ft 2 way refer so I went for the 3 way Dometic used in the 17'. THus allowing a pantry to be added and the microwave is now chest high vs ceiling high.

Escape trailers is truly a custom build manufacturer. I remember years ago, having my first individual home built, I went to a custom home company. He said to me, the house is 30x40 on the outside, on the inside you can have 6 small bedrooms or 2 giant bedrooms, did not make any difference to him, hardwood or carpet, all the same to him. I had to meet him weekly and tell them where the phones, electrical, closets were to be placed. When done it was the way I wanted. Escape is the same, they will let you use items from other models, move cabinets, move windows, add or delete, all the same to them.
When done you have the trailer the way you want it, not the way the manufacturer wanted it. Airstreams will not make any changes to their designs nor allow any substitutions, Escape will. When delivered it was ready to be camped in.

I hope so, this was my 7th camper in 4 years, a Hyperlite toy hauler, 16' Road Runner. 17' T@da, Lance 1880, EggCamper, Lance 1575, and hopefully my last, the Escape 19. You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince!!

Looks very nice and tailored to your taste. If it's not too impolite to ask, how much did all those options and custom features add to the cost? As the saying goes..."custom costs".

I was only charged the published prices on the Escape's website, plus some custom options that did not exceed a couple of hundred $$. Reace was very accommodating and even performed some "gratis" additions. I was fortunate to have slipped into a cancelled availability slot in July while talking to Tammy in May after selling my camper in May. The stars lined up right this time.
