Question about Fiberglass RV

I have just discovered something that I don't understand. I use the FRV app on my iPad to access this community; but I have discovered that some things are different about posts. Those little creatures that do funny things, like roll around on the floor or put their thumbs up don't appear on my iPad app version. I just get some strange, cryptic words and symbols. Does anybody else notice this . . . and do most people use computers instead of "devices"?

If I dont log in I get weird characters on the screen but when loged in all is good. But then I only use it from my PC.

Ah . . . I see now that if I "click" on any one particular message, I get a display that shows only that message--and then the little animated characters are there, doing their thing. I'm learning a lot about these new systems . . . but not nearly as quickly as my grandchildren.

Smilie List - Fiberglass RV

The words and symbols are "text code" for the animated smilies.

It does the same thing on an IPhone as well.

I think it is a limitation of the APP. Same on Android.

I use the Safari site even on my iPad unless I want to upload pics (though IOS6 supposedly allows this.)

Are there other advantages to using Safari, beyond seeing the dancing critters?

One advantage is that you can use the default color scheme which is a little easier on the eyes. The option shows up at the very bottom of the page. Raz

On Iphones and other small screens the App is a much easier read than trying to do it using Safari.
