Question About "Trailer Referrals"
I sort of tried to find the answer but didn't. I want to know if under "Trailer Referrals" I can list dealerships that have units, specifically used units. The link to a specific used unit I guess is my question. I have came across a few over the last few months and yesterday across another, sadly a Casita about an hour away but Casita is too short. I sort of think that the dealerships often don't realize what people might normally pay for a used unit because the prices sometimes seem not as high. So, are there rules that I have missed about posting there? I would encourage everyone to google for the used units you are interested in finding.

I think it is really useful when people list them at dealerships because otherwise they can be really hard to find as often they are not on Craigslist etc.
As you say sometimes dealerships don't know the value of them because they are used to dealing with the stickies.
I got a good deal on my Casita that way from an Airstream dealer who couldn't believe the interest it generated after I bought it sight unseen soon after it was listed.

You can contact the Help Desk for a determination if you wish. I believe there have been referrals to dealer-held glass trailers in the past. I wouldn't push the limits by posting a link to a dealer stock list which contains the trailer but rather a link directly to a description of the trailer plus dealer contact info. Frequent referrals to one dealer might also look suspicious; the inclusion of dealer advertising in a referrals post would be a very red flag. I don't believe you're going to do either.

Can someone tell me how to contact the "Help Desk"? No, I don't really find that many but I might be able to help a couple people find one. I have seen in the past units at those little used car dealers running ads where they will take just about anything in trade and prices seemed good and a few of the other larger dealers where they consider the smaller and more rare trailers to be step-children to the biggies. We have always been interested in the more unique trailers and if we went to the big dealers, they always took us out to the back 40 in order to view what we were interested in and showed very little enthusiasm about serving us.

Cathy, use the "contact us" on the dark blue bar at the very bottom of every forum page. Posting Block will appear. Your query will go to an FGRV administrator. I admit I couldn't find the help desk either; I know the admins use that term. Maybe there's method in that madness?

I am not a moderator, but to paraphrase what Jack said. As long as you are not acting as an agent of the dealer, posting moulded fibreglass trailers that are on a dealers lot would be a service to the membership of FiberglassRV.com.
I know I would appreciate it.

OK, I'm just going to go for it after I see what the dealer link to the ad looks like once I preview it. *Seemed to work OK. Thank you.

Cathy, I have posted referrals of dealership "for sales" but I always post, that its being offered by a dealership. So memebers know before hand that is who they will be dealing with.
But I have to ask, are you saying that you want to help dealerships get more for the trailers ? Cause you say, I sort of think that the dealerships often don't realize what people might normally pay for a used unit because the prices sometimes seem not as high. Personally, I found in the past that those offered through dealerships tended to be higher priced to begin with. Maybe things have changed.

Of course I have no intention of helping dealers get higher prices. Keep in mind that location makes a difference when it comes to pricing and also, what the dealer usually carries. Location also makes a difference when it comes to locating a unit and we are in Kansas, south-central at that. A lot of the used vehicles and trailers are sold off to the east or west coast where they can get better prices. The average household income for our area is about $35,000 a year so we shop differently. This is not my home state, probably could have guessed that. There are many positive things about KS though but not the shopping for anything! So, no, my intent is to help someone, maybe in the same general area or looking for something specific to find a unit. Good grief!

Cathy, just do it. If "they" don't like it, "they" will make it vanish. Poof. And it keeps 'em on their toes........

Oh good! Completely understand the glass search in the middle of the country. Hang in there you will find what your looking for eventually! And as I an others have said, go for posting for sales by dealers. Love Tom's explanation of why to proceed better than any!

Do serial "flippers" count as dealers?
