Rental places with fiberglass trailers
Forum,
Are there places that specialize in renting such trailers?
It seems like most dealers don't carry any..
Thanks

Nope, not many, unfortunately. Most of the molded fiberglass manufacturers sell factory direct, and with waiting lists ranging from a few months to over a year, there's no surplus inventory to supply a rental market.
Happier Camper in Los Angeles and Windsor, Ontario maintains a small collection of vintage rentals, along with their new HC1. I recently saw an announcement about a new operation in the Seattle area, don't recall the name. I expect you might find a few scattered units on Outdoorsy.com.

Specialize? No.. but I know there are a few on https://www.outdoorsy.com
But it seems you have to search by location, and then can add keywords for the make...

Texas rental firm, no experience, and no connection with them either. Way back before we bought our Casita, our plan was to take a long trip with their trailer. Then a Casita popped up on our market locally, and we pounced. It would have served us well to rent FIRST!

Someone in Woodland, California advertises a Scamp 13 and a Casita 17 for rent on Craigslist.

Too bad there isn't much to be found on east coast. I guess we'll have to find out the 'hard way' ourselves.. Given the resale value of the units, it's not as bad of a bet as some others we are forced to make in life, IMO.

We found out that front bath floor plans don’t work us particularly on the Casita Liberty model where there wasn’t a permanent dinette. Scamp 16 would have worked better, particularly the deluxe with a big bed. We tend to take long trips, 4 weeks plus or minus, covering a fair distance 8,000 to 11,000 miles on our last trip. So what works or doesn’t work for us is not that important.
My advice in general is decide what size bed you need, with a separate permanent dinette.
Ultimately the Escape 19 fit us best.

FYI, we made our Casita available on Outdoorsy.

Rented it out once so far, worked out OK.
I do like Escapes and Bigfoots.. While Casitas are very easy to tow, the others seem to have more room at same sizes due to more height and width.

I went and looked at a Scamp a few years ago up in silver bay, MN, the guy had several to sell and I asked him why he had so many?
He was planning on starting a Scamp rental up on the north shore but then found out he couldn’t do it from his home and would have to buy a piece of business property with an office on site to do so. He said that with all the regulations, permits, insurance and so on plus having to buy a separate property that it was not financially feasible.
He had a great idea but it just didn’t work out.
