This is not a how to but more of a rant against carpet in campers. I'm sure the country/world is divided on the issue but we absolutely abhor carpet in a camper. Linoleum is perfectly fine and can't change the cost of manufacturing that much. If carpet is requested then install it over the linoleum so the next guy can just remove it and be done. But above all,
DO NOT INSTALL IT BEFORE INSTALLING ANY CABINETRY! Meaning,
DO NOT INSTALL CABINETRY OR WALLS ON THE CARPET OR ANY OTHER FLOOR COVERING!
What a pain this project has been. I chose not to gut the rear of the camper and work around what we have. I still need to install some molding but we now have a nice wood grain looking linoleum floor in the bedroom of our
bigfoot. We also removed the carpet from the exterior storage compartment and finished it out with a spray in liner, we'll see how that holds up over time... carpet in the exterior storage compartment, genius. Why not carpet the entire exterior of the camper for increased R value!
Sorry folks, just had to say something. We love our
Bigfoot but what a bone-head thing to discover.
