Roadtrip From Ennis Tx to Ctrl Florida

So after picking up our Casita in March'25 we'll have one night in Ennis. Looking for some suggestions for best routes from Ennis/Rice Tx to Ctrl Florida. Looking at possibly going for a couple of nights near Austin and then start a more easterly route from there. Wondered if anyone out there had any favorite spots along that route. We won't be set up for lengthy boondocking but could probably survive a night? Also welcome any suggestions on truly unique Austin dining.

You might be lucky enough to see the Texas Bluebonnets in March if they come early. We usually camp at the Corps of Engineers campground in Ennis when we are in the area.
We usually try to take the back roads when heading to/from TX from GA, and plan our route through College Station and Jasper TX, Alexandria LA, and Natchez MS, which might work for you if you are starting from Austin.

Thanks, after posting I looked at drive times and our schedule and decided I would have to exclude Austin and start a more easterly trip after Ennis C.O.E we have a night at Village Creek State Park east of Houston. Then two nights Fontainbleau State Park , in Louisiana. Blackwater River State Park near Pensacola. Then maybe moochdock at a friends place near Gainesville Fl. and then home. I really want to see Austin someday maybe after retirement which is very close.

Radar 1, I appreciate your suggestions and had mulled that over, especially the Natchez and Alexandria. I will hold out hope for Bluebonnets. We are doing Lake Bardwell COE before we get too far from Casita Factory. I definitely prefer the backroads, hence the small chunks of driving, more the journey than the destination.
