Sale at Princess Auto!
$19.99 probably the cheapest I've seen 7" round LED Tail Lights! Sale until August 14, 2011. If you're looking to change those dim round tail lights, this is a great solution.
7" LED Stop/Turn/Tail Transit Light

Did I? Then maybe I should have said "cheapest I've seen them in 2011"

Has anyone switched over to these types of taillights ? I'm just wondering how many wires there are and if its an easy switch ?

Are these a perfect fit for a 1987 scamp. I don't have my camper here so not sure if they are 7". Thanks

Hi Clive, I have these lights and not installed them yet as when I took the originals off my 92 Scamp there were 4 wires on the current lights - one of them is brown - was going to ask here what it was for and what do with it. Do you happen to know what to do with the brown wire?
Or do I need to go into the back hatch and cut open the rat fur to find the original junction to the rear lights - will I find only three wires there?

Carol,
Could be for backup lights if you have backup lights. Donna didn't mention backup with these LED's only stop, turn & tail.

Thanks for letting us know about the sale both last year and this year!
I purchased a pair last year after you posted, that is why I remembered the price. I think you are right that these are the best deal around. They seem to be good quality and are very bright although I have only tested them and have not yet installed them. Some of the 7" LED round lights from other sources only have half as many LED's as these do.

No back lights on these just stop and running lights and turn signals, I have them on my 1971 Boler and work great. I switched all my lights interior and exterior to LED lights.

I'm just wondering my Scamp has rectangle ones, does anyone carry these that are Led. If not I can always change the two bulbs in each to led's . I would get the round but I think I would have to fill the holes that my originals would leave, and that the round ones wouldn't cover . Oh thanks Clive.

Hi, Donna. Do you think a person could use the inner workings of these, and still keep the Top Hat red lens for the authentic look? Would everything fit inside the original lens? Thanks.

Hi, Rick. Did you replace your interior and exterior fixtures with LED, or just change the bulbs? I'm assuming LED bulbs would fit in the old fixtures, and I think there would be no worry about any more heat from the bulbs, not like halogen? Thanks!

If you're talking about the 7" rounds, then... no you can't.

Thanks Joy I suspect your right but the problem is/actually I know my back ups never worked... hummm.
Do you happen to know if the rear lights have a connection hidden under the rat fur inside that I should be digging around for or should I just snip the wires off right at the old light on the outside?

Carol,
Is the 7pin connector on your car wired for backup lights ?
The center pin is the one used for the backup lights.

Hi Carol
I installed the 7" rounds from Princes Auto too
Very happy with them. The Brown is running lights, Red- stop turn and White-Ground.
Cheers
Brian.

Bill as far as I know it is wired correctly - the car side was pro install originally and then totally replaced car side connections again in Idaho a couple of weeks ago while on the road as the charge line wasnt working while towing and one of the tail lights worked and then didnt work - turned out the problem was some of the connections on the car side had rusted badly as a result of to much time on salted ski hill roads in winter with the car.
