Scamp 13 in Michigan (for viewing)

Hello, since selling our Egg Camper we have been in a tent :-( Now we have a 2019 Subaru Outback that can tow up to 2700, not that I want to reach that weight which leads us to a Scamp 13.

So without making a trek to Scamp a few states away I am wondering if there are any Michiganders in the Grand Rapids area that might let us take a tour of a Scamp 13?

Your Outback also has a low-ish 200# tongue weight rating. A 13'er can meet that with a single LP tank and some attention to weight distribution. You won't be able carry a lot of gear in the back of your vehicle.

Yep, Thanks Jon, that's why we are looking at the Scamp 13. Outside of an Aliner or an older Casita 13 the Scamp seems right.

I know that Scamp made the 6 foot or so inside around 2016 so I am hoping to have a peek inside a 2016 or newer.

Headroom in the 13'ers was increased in 2007, after a factory fire in 2006 destroyed the old molds. My 2008 has about 6'2" of interior headroom. The optional wider bed in 13' standards became available in 2014, but not all have it. Crank-out side windows, another popular feature, ran from 2010 to 2019.

If you call Sacmp, they have an ambassador program. They get in touch with someone in your area that has a scamp and you arrange a viewing. The person even gets some $ if you buy one.

I would definitely check their referral program to see if someone local has one.


I'm up in Rockford and there used to be an older couple east of town that had a small scamp that looked like a 13 if memory serves, but I wasn't in-the-know about FGRVs back then so it might have been a 16.

We have 2012 13' Scamp w/ front bath and significant modifications. Has over 100k miles and still doing great. We live in Wyoming, a Grand Rapids suburb. We're currently in China, but return on May 1. If you wait that long, we'd be delighted to have you view our Scamp.
