Scamp 19 wireless brake controller

You can get a wireless brake controller now with the scamp 19. I have a new one comming in April.


The tow vehicle will be either a Nissan Frontier or it will be the new ford ranger which is not out yet...




Do I want that? I know nothing about them.

HMMMMM... If it works as well as my garage door opener, get it! If it works like the bluetooth technology/infotainment center/lane departure/proximity detection/passive braking/remote engine starting/ etc, etc. in the car, BEWARE! I wonder if stray signals could activate the brakes at the wrong time. Looks like a solution to a problem that doesn't yet exist.

I bought a wireless controller for my scamp 16 for the mountains here in Colorado. Easy setup, easy to use, and I've had no problems with it at all.

I use one on my Scamp 13. Been using it for 5 years without any problems. It just plain works. Unit mounts on my trailer and i can tow with multiple tow cars and trucks with one controler.

I have a Tekonsha wireless controller for my Escape 19 and its great. Only snag was getting the cockpit remote paired initially with the trailer module which was difficult because of my German TV’s trailer towing “smarts” in it’s onboard computer. So Dennis at Escape had to pair it using an American pickup. (Sometimes “dumb” is better than “smart”.) Once that was accomplished it was smooth sailing. Best part is that I can switch tow vehicles whenever I want and only have to plug the remote into the lighter socket of the new TV.
