Scamp curiosity

Anyone know how many 13' Scamps were sold in 2008?

I believe production in that era ran around 450 units a year, and about 2/3 were 13'ers. Rough guess, around 300. I have one of them!

Me too!

Been having problems finding valuation for this particular year, so thought that maybe because they were recovering from the fire in 2006, not as many had been made.

I'm the second owner, bought mine in 2010 from the original owner.

It wouldn’t be the fire. They were back up and running at full capacity by 2007. The 2008 recession might have had a small effect late in the year, which is when mine was built and delivered to AZ in early 2009. I acquired it from the first owner in 2012.

Where are you trying to find the valuation? The best site for that has closed. I would probably join the relevant FB groups and look for anything in the 2007-2012 range or so. Once they’re past the first decade, condition and equipment matter more than year.

Oh, I've been looking at valuations since I bought mine. NOT wondering if I paid too much, or too little....the moment I saw mine I KNEW it had been made JUST for me. (Never mind the former owner! LOL!) So it didn't matter what I had paid.

Unfortunately, I just happen to be a curious person.

I don’t imagine more than a handful of your exact model and year change hands in any given year, and some sell locally without ever getting listed on the internet. That’s why I suggest looking at a range of years near yours.

Fiberglass-RV-4Sale.com used to collect ads from Craigslist, eBay, and Kijii and repost them, and it was the best place to collect comps and track values. I used to check in myself from time to time, but they closed, as you know.

Now you have to do your own separate searches on this site, Craigslist, and Facebook- where ads are scattered among the general Marketplace and several private groups (Scamp Travel Trailers and Scamp Trailer Classified seem to be the most active). Too much work for me. If I ever need a value for sale or insurance, I’ll do it then. It’s actually kind of freeing to not know or worry.
