I called Scamp and talked with Wayne on Friday (Nov 3) about their lead time for ordering a fifth wheel and when they would be resuming production.

Wayne says they had been producing 16' trailers in a rented warehouse, but finished moving into their new factory space this week and have already started work on their 5th wheel backlog. New orders will be filled before springtime.

Base cost for a standard 5th wheel package (side bathroom) with shower & toilet is about $14,500 or nicely appointed in the neighborhood of $16,500. We're going to keep looking for a used 5th wheel, but if push comes to shove at least we can order a new one!

That's great news for Scamp, and I'm sure the entire town of Backus is applauding as well Producing the 13 footer can't be far behind.

Thats not bad for a Scamp fifth wheel. Actually, before purchasing my used 13' scamp, I looked at an A-Liner Cabin A. I was quoted a price of $18500 for a Cabin A which is much less than a Cabin A Space wise.

Glad to hear that Scamp is back in business

I talked to Wayne last week also. Had him send some for literatue and post cards. A couple things I noticed in the literature. One, they are apparently using a 2" ball on the 13' now. Two. They've increased the interior height of the 13' by 2", the same as 16'. (6' 3").
