September Trip

Since we retired, we have taken the month of September for travelling. Last year, we drove our Mazda MX5, with the top down across Onterio to Kingston, re entered the U.S. and drove the south shore of Lake Onterio thru New York and then across the South Shore of Lake Erie.

Since mid winter, we have been planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest in the Mazda. Last week, due to the many forest fires, we cancelled hotel reservations and rethought our direction. We have now scheduled a trip to Michigan to explore the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. The first adventure is a trip across Lake Michigan on the S.S.Badger. We also changed vehicles and will be living in the Scamp. Reservations are in place for the first week. At this point, I'm pretty excited about the trip.

We did the trip around Lake Michigan two years ago. The trip was well worth it . We too had a trip to the West Coast planned . My wife suffers from COPD so the air quality in the western states has us very concerned. We may have to change our route West to avoid the smoke if that is even possible or change our destination. Good luck to you on your upcoming trip . Michigan is especially beautiful in the fall !!
