David...
Checked the serial numbers and they are all correct..When I tagged them in Alabama due to all of them coming from out of state I had to have a police officer come out and verify the serial numbers before they would issue a tag..Alabama "does not" require a title on these (due to age I guess)and "will not" issue and new Title when you register it, all you get is a Tag Registration reciept.....All I have to go by are the stickers and titles and I'm lucky because I have the titles on all of them...I've since stamped the serial numbers on the tongue of each one because the stickers on the closet doors are impossible to remove and re-install on the new doors.I went and checked the sticker on the closet on them and there are no dates listed anywhere that I can see to verify the years...I tried to take photo's of the door stickers but the flash washes everything out and you can't read it ..might work better tomorrow in the daylight...If there something else I can do to help let me know and I'll try to help the best I can....THANKS RANDY

Randy, I had the same problem with the camera flash. I found it helped if the sticker was not straight on to the camera.
Dumb question, what does the door window of, 45-1100914...'79: Front Gaucho, look like. It seems that only the 1978 year had opening windows in the door, but I could be wrong.
It may be that there is more to the 1300 serial numbers then we think. I look forward to more data.

I think you are right. It would be a very easy mod to add a table. Change the cushions would be the expensive part. Also had the 4" rear bumber with no gray or black tanks. good for storing poles.

What I really like about the factory install of the front dinette is the fibreglass back splash they add to the front. Unlike the rear dinette, this back splash is not part of the mould for the seats It is a separate piece. It supports the table, without having to screw through the shell of the trailer. Tom Young does not have this piece on his front dinette Trilliums. Instead he uses a large tubular pedestal leg.
I totally agree with you about the 4" bumper. I see it on lots of Trilliums. Perfect for the poles used with the awning. Unfortunately the bumper on my 4500 is no longer good for that. When I put the rear hitch receiver in, it took up too much of the cross section to fit all the poles now, bummer.

Dave,
Thought I would chime in with the serial numbers on our two Trilliums. The 1978
1300 is 13 1104528 and the 1979 4500 is 45 1101273. They are both Front Gaucho models.
As it has been noted the 1979 4500 model has the foot space that allows easy conversion to a front dinette which I have almost completed and will post pics when I'm done.

Thanks Reid, I have added your trailers to the last list.
Kinda looks like either the serial numbers are not sequential, or there are trailers with incorrect years. Like my Cantaloupe. How it is registered as a 1977, is beyond me.

That's the beauty of what you're doing, David- it may be that we haven't discovered the real pattern yet.

As the volume of SN's grows, something entirely different from our assumptions might emerge!

Are there any other clues in the Cantaloupe? Dates on fridges, stoves furnaces etc?

Here's another 13' Trillium to add to the list.

This was my first Trill. When I got the 4500 I gave this one to my Daughter. I finally got over to her place to take these pictures.

There is a long story of how this camper got registered as a '79 which I do not believe it is. I think it is a much earlier year.

It has a front gauncho and no kitchen window. The window in the door does not open. It has an ice box.

Thanks, Dave and Noreen. Your serial numbers have been added.

Noreen, I would say it's a 1976. The logo and door lock changed in 1977.

Dave, I am guessing, but is your tralier a front gaucho?

Looky what I found!

While stripping decals and removing front rack, I came across this label with a build date of Feb. '75. Has anyone else seen this decal?

My Conversation with Tom Young

OK, I just spent almost two hours on the phone with Tom Young of TrilliumRV.com. He filled me in on the model number code. The first two digits refer to the exterior, and the interior color.
1 = Antique White
2 = Green
3 = Orange, (Gold)
The Third digit was not used until later years. It was for the floor plan, but he was not positive of the codes.

So, The Cantaloupe would be 13-2300609, if it was numbered the same as the later Trilliums.

I will post other details of the conversation in a new thread.

I don't get it...can you decode a number into its parts as an example?

Francesca

How about 4:
Spanke: ....13-2205863...'78: Front Gaucho
220 The first two means a green exterior the second two means a green interior the zero is meaningless in this year. (I hope Spanke's trailer is painted)
Roy:.........45-1111339...'79: Front Gaucho (almost dinette)
111 The first one means white exterior, the second one means white interior, I am guessing, but I am going to say the third one is for front gaucho, (almost dinette)
Noreen:.....45-1121733...'81: Front Dinette
112 The first one means white exterior, the second one means white interior, also guessing, the two means front dinette.
Randy B:...45-1131567...'80: Front Full Bath
113 The first one means white exterior, the second one means white interior, guessing again, the three means Bath

Thanks, David. I am finding this thread very interesting.

I have learned more in the last year about my Trilliums from this site and from you than in all the previous years since I bought my little 13 footer in '98. The more I know the better I am able to take care of my camper and the safer I am able to keep it.
