This is Elizabeth. She hates all men except Kevin. It takes her days to recover from a trip when we come home. She tears for the basement at the slightest sound. She was a stray and distrusts most all strangers.

This is Toulouse, named for the French painter because of the spot under his nose.

Camping with 4 dogs (2 Bigs, 2 Littles) is a challenge, but we've done it! The senior pugs much prefer roughing it at home with the pet sitter than living in the wilds! Our Big dogs, Ginger, on the right, has been a royal camping companion for the last 14 years. She's starting to slow down a little. Belle, on the left, we've had for about 6 years and is finally getting the hang of camping. All are foundlings and each has added joy to our lives. Bless their little hearts. David , Terry

These are our two dogs -- Kimi and Eric. They are both Shiba Inus. Eric loves camping, but Kimi is a bit of a princess!

Wink

Well I just have to submit my dog Sid. I saw Sid at the shelter one day when my daughter-in-law and I just went there to visit. He was huge, fuzzy, lots of drool and I liked him right away but the last thing I needed was a big dog. Many months later my daughter-in-law and I went back just to visit and poor Sid was still there. But I knew the last thing I needed was this big dog. Another couple of months passed and my son and his wife went to the shelter... without any prompting from my daughter-in-law, my son saw Sid and said "thats a dog my mom would like" My daughter-in-law immediately recognized him as the one I had been looking at and they decided that day to get him for me for Christmas, though we had to wait a week to bring him home. At first I was a little hesitant- my son and his wife each have a big dog, and I have a little one, but I wanted Sid rescued from the shelter and it was so ironic that my son picked him out for me, that I began to look forward to Sid coming to live with us. He arrived on December 26, 2006. We didn't have a good first day, but by day 2 it became very evident that this was EXACTLY what I had needed. We named him Walt Sidney.

Sid is estimated to be about 4 years old. He is half Chow and half long haired German Shepherd and 100% lap dog. Never has there been a more gentle giant and never have I had a better companion. I feel bad that he had to live at the shelter for 6 months of his life, but I am greatful that he is with me now. With the kids all grown up, it sure is nice to have this huge fuzzy drooling thing to keep me company!

What a great story. It's obvious that you and Sid were meant for each other. Nice to think that now he has a warm home, blankies to sleep in, someone to love and protect and feed him the goodies he likes. That's what we're here for. Long life and happiness to you both!

He was a stray, found last winter in Chilliwack (Reace, you can't have him!) - we are told his birthday is August.

Where did you get the awning?
I love it!
Sue!

That is a Columbia Condor II. I got it on line. Prices are $98 to $130 US. Try Amazon.com to start.

The Columbia Condor II official picture

We attach the straps (extended) to the far side of the Scamp. With 60+ years of camping, I like this awning the best of all we have ever had. It is almost like an outdoor room without the walls.

Here is part of my crew. Bought the camper just for the dogs. Tent was ok for me, but wanted something safer for the dogs.

Hmmmm, picture will not come through

anyway, I am headed out camping on Thursday with 3 litters of puppies and adult doggies. Hope to have a relaxing weekend with family (and puppies) at a family reunion at a state park (without electricity). Hoping for some nice weather.

chment]Ok here are our babies. It just happens to be Stella's birthday party, she turned 1 on July 18th. Her brother (weiner dog) tolerated the party hat. These are our children and we are so fortunate to have them. Here goes, enjoy! ps. you may be able to spot the spoiled cat that refused to wear her hat. She felt stalking the cake was festive enough. Her name is princess cocoa.
