Thanks Mary F. and redwoodguy!

What's the inside look like? 80% redone!

Actually, the inside picks up the outside colors around a "coffee house" theme.

Almost done---now down to the little details---floor trim, door latches, etc.

Here's a tiny sneak peak---------

Original Oil Painting by Olivette

At the 2010 Pine Knot rally in Grapeland, TX, we were graced with the vision of Olivette's original oil paintings each afternoon next door to our Casita. At the 2011 Bluebonnet rally in Bandera, TX, we commissioned her to paint our Casita with some personalized special touches. Here it is:

How we Got our Oil Painting

Olivette painted our original oil from pictures taken of our actual Casita, our screen room, our Tahoe, and our cocker spaniel looking out the window. Bandera is actually more of a desert landscape than a woods, but, we asked her to put it in a woodsy scenery...and, since it was a memory of the Bluebonnet Rally, she added her own bluebonnets idea in the front. One funny thing is that we've owned this Casita for 8 years now and we've tossed around MANY, MANY ideas for what name or phrase we wanted to place on the back. We've seen so many cute sayings over the years---Gene Layton (casitaforum.com administrator) has "Cruisin' Over Easy", we've seen "Eggstra Suite" and many others. I always wanted to write "Our Egg is Un Oeuf" (un oeuf is French for "an egg")...but Ray nixed that idea saying no one would know what it meant---a play on words...."un oeuf" is pronounced sort of like "enough". When we were going through some personal details we wanted in the picture, we REALLY felt it would be good to have some "saying" on the back. So, after years and years of not being able to decide what to write, we finally agreed that since "Casita" means "little house"....we would call it that-- "Our Little House". After getting the painting from Olivette, we went to FAST SIGNS and had them make up the decal...and just a few days ago had "Our Little House" installed onto our Casita.

I'm attaching a few pictures below to show how Olivette got what she put together:

She couldn't fit Ray and Ellen from this license plate on the painting, so we asked her to just paint in RayEl....which she did:

And finally, here are just a few extra pictures we considered to make sure Tiffany was part of the painting....

Olivette took several of her own pictures as well---that's how she added in our Tahoe in the front and got the angle for it, too. And this is how the Casita looks now with our new decal on the back:

So Ray wanted to show how we got our personalized oil painting of our Casita to have all our little individual touches. Didn't Olivette do a GREAT JOB??

Tony, the new Escape 13

We picked up Tony on Monday (Oct 3). We're very pleased with the trailer. It's more spacious and has more storage than we had imagined. Here's a couple of photos.

1978 Trillium, the day we bought it. Petit Jean St. Park, Arkansas

Steadily working on small and not so small fixes. Can't wait to get it all ship shape and have another camping trip. We took the Dodge truck to pick it up, but our plan is to tow with our Nissan Exterra. Jo and the old guy
