This weekend, August 27th, there was a 16' Casita parked in the Cupid Wedding Chapel parking in downtown Las Vegas just off Las Vegas Boulevard a little south of Fremont Street.

Friday, August 25. We were stuck in a long long traffic jam on I-5 south of Salem, OR. You were pulling a Scamp 5th wheel and honked as you were heading into the rest stop.

We drove through Canal Creek camp ground, Siuslaw National Forest, just off hwy 34. A 13' Scamp was parked in a camp spot. It didn't look like anybody was there so we didn't stop. Was it you?

Here I was in Coos Bay, Oregon still in a daze and not home yet from my Alaska trip....I get out of my Jeep and here comes a crazy red-headed lady hollering "Joy--Joy" I'm exaggerating, she wasn't hollering. Any way I look at her with a blank stare mumbling who are you??? It was Jeanne from Coos Bay.

Jeanne. you must have thought I was weird...well yes I am, but don't tell. I was just in a fog and not really expecting to see anyone I knew.

Oh, and No, to who ever it was..I wan't near Roseburg. I went down the coast. I needed 5 days at Loeb State Park in Brookings, OR to relax and unwind before heading home.

I spotted numerous Scamps, Casitas, Bolers etc while on my trip. I flashed my lights and waved like crazy. If any were you, I pull my 13Scamp with a dark green Jeep Cherokee.

In South Beach State Park, Newport, Oregon there were 2 Bolers and a Trillium all from BC Canada. I of course stopped by to say Hi to all. I don't remember their names off hand but I do have them written down in the other room.

My brain is still on over load from my long long trip. Been over a week and my Scamp is not unhitched yet, nor cleaned out...neither is the Jeep. I've got 2 weeks until the next trip. I'll get it done one day.

HI! Joy & Lily
I am glad that you made it home and that you had a good trip.

I just go back from Wal- Mart in Medford, Oregon and saw a 16' Casita and the tow was a Colorado PU ( both look new ) with Washington plates but no one was around and when I got back from in WM you were gone.

We just got home from 1000 miles on the road from southern Oregon, to Oroville, Yuba City and Sacramento California. Not one sighting in all of the 12 days we were gone; until we were within 60 miles of home today. We spoted three Casitas near Rogue River on I-5. Two going the other way (south) and one too far ahead to catch. It was so funny. We were just saying how can we not have seen any fiberglass trailers and there were three.

I find it interesting how few trailer I spotted on the 7500 miles I traveled this sumer. Three. On out trip to and from Wyoming last week we saw two. A 13ft Scamp and a Casitas. The first on I15 somewhere in Utah heading southbound (8-18 or 19th) and the second heading east on I80 (8-26).

Jay "Julien" and Linda&David.....Thanks for you good thoughts.

As for future trips I had been contemplating New England & Eastern Canada next year, but I'll save that for 2008. I think that would be a good 3 month trip.

So next year I will most likely just be doing Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Those are 3 of 6 states I've never been too. It would be a short 8 week trip rather than 10 plus as Alaska was.

On northbound Hiway 395 just north of Ridgecrest I passed a Kia Sorento, I think, towing a very shiny 13' Casita. It was the only Egg I saw on my trip to the Owens River.

This afternoon - 16ft Casita NB on US395 thru Reno, NV ... I was so excited, did not get a good look at the tug. Was that you?

My daughter asked "was that a Scamp like yours?" When I said "no, it was a Casita - 16ft w/front bath ... you can tell a Casita by the blue logo & trim" she just rolled her eyes and said that was a factoid only the FG-obsessed would notice What can I say - I'm a FG nut!

In any event, we hope your trip was wonderful and wish you many more safe joureys & happy memories. LdB

We saw a Casita ( 16 or 17 footer) pulled by a Subaru wagon ( green, I think, but not a Forester) on Rt. 6 in Eastham on Cape Cod MA this past Tuesday. I guess you must be fond of sand dunes and salt sea air..... We are and we were envious since we were just on a day trip and always hate to leave the Cape.

A newer looking Casita being towed by a red Toyota Tacoma with Washington plates. You were parked on Lakeshore Dr (in front of the liquor store??) in Salmon Arm, BC. on Sept 6/06.
