saw bunches of Casitas, a couple escapes, a few bigfoots, cruising all over southern Oregon, and northern California the past few days. guessing quite a few of them, like us, were meandering home from the Oregon Coast Gathering

Scamp 13'
Coming into Sonora today about 3:30 on Hwy 108, I saw a very nice (new?) Scamp 13' coming in from the east. . . the high country ...Sonora Pass ! Might be our friend Linda who just took delivery of a new 13' quite recently. Anyone else it could be ? David in Sonora and Fresno

On my first (and to-date) only crossing of the famous Mackinac Bridge I was towing my Scamp 16 north-bound and passed a fellow Scamp headed in the opposite direction, roughly mid-way on the bridge…
I was so busy looking at the scenery that I never noticed the opposing Scamp. But when I reviewed the dash-cam video, I saw this..

Sighted today, August 30, 2018 at about 3 pm, eastbound on CR 96 in Arden Hills / Shoreview, MN.
A really nice Scamp 16 being pulled by a gold Toyota small SUV.

Took a trip to Wallowa lake. Passed a brand new Oliver Elite 2 (with temp plates) on the way. At the lake's camp site I got to talk to new owners of a custom ordered 17' Escape, and walked past a 17' Casita.

Scamp at Strawberry.
John, Here is the Scamp 13’ that was at the Music Festival. I met them later in Sonora. They had the door tied with the rope, were from the Bay Area. I told them about tying shut with long bungee cord material. I met an old lady a few weeks ago with a long rope to the bumper, showed her how to tie it inside to the fire extinguisher bracket.

I found one!
My wife and I bought a 1994 (Manufactured in 93) Bigfoot 5er. It was almost a 4000 mile round trip (we took the indirect route) but it was worth it. we bought the Bigfoot in an area called Chilliwack which is about 60 miles east of Vancouver. On the way home we stopped by the Bigfoot factory in Armstrong B.C. and met the owner and we also met a couple of the guys who would have built our camper back in 1993. Those guys sure do a great job on the construction of their products *not a paid endorsement* we camped all the way home and for all of my searching I didn't see another Bigfoot all the way home. I did, however see a Trillium at a campground near Glacier Nat'l Park Montana.
I have no Idea why my picture loaded upside down
Gary G.
Bigfoot 5er,

Scamp 16’ on Hwy 49, going N.
Followed this Scamp north, talked when he stopped in Angels Camp. He had a kayak, was heading for Lotus, a raft and kayak area on Hwy 49. On the American river I think. Fairly new Scamp, has two water tanks as you can see.

Rolling rally?
Vic and I just returned from our latest travel, a trip from Minnesota to Theodore Roosevelt’s National Park to Coeur d’Alene Idaho, to Columbia Gorge and ultimately Oregon’s coast. It seemed the closer we got to Oregon the more FG we saw.
11 Scamps
9 Casita’s (4 in our campground at Nehalem Bay State Park)
4 Bigfoot (2 truck campers)
3 Nest’s (all on a flatbed headed west in Montana)
2 Escape’s
1 Trillium
1 Hunter Compact (fleeting glance)
About half of these were in Oregon which made us wonder if you received one in your welcome basket if you moved here?

Went camping this last weekend (wednesday-sunday == 5 day weekend, yeah!) at an annual astronomy event CalStar, and saw at least one Casita 17 (hi, Jane!) plus a HappierCamper (unknown) in addition to my Escape21... There were several rented class C stickies, a couple class A's and quite a few camper vans such as Airstream-Sprinter, and a VW Eurovan Westfalia. Also one Airstream.
a drone fly-around I took on Saturday...

John, I sometimes forget how dry the Calif coast can be until I see drone footage like this . And I notice tire tracks all over; are there no specified camping spots? It looks like people drive and park anywhere. As opposed to Lake Casitas where paved roads lead to planned camp sites . David in Fresno and Sonora

thats an overflow camping area we reserve for CalStar each year... yes, no fixed sites, and yes, its even drier than normal this year.
right here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/35...4d-120.9595653
(zoom out to see the lake a mile or so north and east of us)
about a mile away is a regular campground with both hookup and RV sites and permanent bathroom/showers. and another one down closer to the lake, but us astronomers want to be in the deep darkness.
