We were out camping on the Northern Oregon coast this past weekend and saw so many other eggs I can't remember them all. First, we cruised next to a Casita pulled by a bright yellow Ford Ranger near Olympia Washington Saturday morning November 8 and then at the rest stop near Longview we saw a Scamp 5th Wheel. Then we passed by a 16 ft Scamp on 101 near Astoria after lunch if I remember correctly. Busy weekend.

Last night about 6pm in the Flying J at Corning California just off I-5. As we were getting gas we spotted a 17 foot Casita with a white TV. No one around and the step was up so we figured they were eating at the resturant.

I saw THREE Casitas, in addition to my own, at Kerrville Schreiner park (Kerrville, Texas) over the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. If you saw ours, it was the one with the flag (see my avatar).

I saw a Casita pulled by a silver/blue van yesterday about 4:40 in the afternoon, heading southbound on I-15 at Lake Elsinore, Ca. Was it you heading home from turkey??? I was going northbound without my trailer.

Wed, Nov. 26th - we spotted TWO Eggs headed westbound on I-10 near the Hwy 85 bypass route around Phoenix:
One 16-ft Scamp with silver SUV tug
One Casita - did not get a good look at the TV.
Sun, Nov 30th - Casita 16 or 17 w/silver Tug parked in Chandler/Tempe, AZ.
Hope Thanksgiving was as wonderful for y'all as it was for us. We don't need to eat for a week! L 'n D

Finally seen some fiberglass today! It was a very shiny 16-17 foot Casita being towed by a Tacoma pickup. They were headed east on I-10 just north of Tucson, AZ this afternoon. Happy travels!

Yeah, another one! This afternoon on I-10 westbound (north) by the Chandler, AZ exit, a 16-17' Casita being towed by a older green Dodge work truck (kind of flat bed-ish). Was it you? Happy trails.

Non-sightings (almost)--since getting our Scamp 5er in Aug 06, we've made four fairly long trips and have seen only 4 other active FGRVs on the road. Spring of '07 we went from NW Fl to northern Mi via SE MO, Il, In and returned via I65. Saw one Scamp 5er parked in southern IN, another parked in N Al: no active, over-the-road units. Fall of '07 we left NW Fl bound for Charleston,SC then to New England via mid Michigan, returned via southeastern routes; Passed a Scamp 13 some where between Charleston and Ky, saw a big Casita in a park we stopped at in Vt and a Scamp 5er in northern Va. Didn't make contact with any of the campers. June of '08 we left home bound for NMLRA range in Friendship, In, via SE Mo , returned via I65, didn't see any of our kind. Sep '08 we left NW Fl bound for Michigan's UP, traversed UP from east to west then south thru Wi, Ia, Mo, then east thru Ky and back to I65 south; saw a Scamp 16'(?) towed by a Jeep near Pictured Rocks, Mi and no others. Oh Brothers, where art thou?

On 1/5/2009 we spent a rainy night at Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona. There was a Scamp 16 in the next loop from us. It was towed by a mini-truck with a high top camper shell.
It was too rainy to go visiting.

Quartzsite, AZ - in the last day or two, we've spotted 2 Casitas (one 16, one 13) cruising thru town. Spied a Scamp 5th-wheel parked at an RV site on Central Blvd. but did not get over to visit before they pulled out. Looking forward to seeing lots of 'glass in town for the Dome Rock event in February. Stay warm, everyone - L 'n D

I was in the Bay Area in the town of Sunnyvale and saw a 17 Casita in a car wash. I made a U-turn and met Micheal from Eugene, Or. He was washing off all the snow/slush stuff from having come over the Siskayou's. He said he was headed south to Anzo Borrego SP and the desert.

Jan. 28th about 1 pm I spotted a 16' or 17' Casita headed toward Big Sur on Hwy 1, south of Carmel. The driver was wearing a big-rimmed hat... maybe it was Michael!

Two sightings to report. On our way south on I-5 we followed a trillium for about 20 miles before they turned off into a rest area and we had to keep going to stay on time. Wish we could have stopped and visited. That was Thursday Jan. 29?
Today we were heading over hwy 152 near Los Banos and saw a Casita in a Wal Mart parking lot. We pulled in and when they came out they stopped by and visited. They had never heard about this web site so Dale showed them his t-shirt with the website. They have been full timing for over a year. Hopefully they will be joining us here. We shared many things about our trailers and found that their trailer hatched in Rice just two weeks after ours did.

Jeanne,
I bet that was Michael. He had a wide brimmed hat when I met him. He said he was headed down through Big Sur on his way to Anzo Borrego.

From Oct 26,2008:

On the way home from the Lake Casitas Rally, we were Southbound on I-5 in Anaheim south of Disneyland when we were passed by a 13' Scamp-like clone with "Trek" on the side. The front seat passenger gave us a big thumbs-up, and I smiled and waved.
Terry Jeffers, was that you?

Hi Frederick,
Sorry about the long delayed reply...
Had to go to the shed to make sure MY Trek was still there. Nope, it wasn't me in CA but sure wish it was!!! Until I saw your 'Sightings' post, I thought I had the only Trek. Hopefully they will 'trek' on over to fiberglassrv and see that there is a long lost relative in the midwest!!!
Thanks for the posting.

It's called Inca Gold.
Was a PT Cruiser towing your Trek sighting?
In Nov. 2004, we were driving about 25 miles from here and saw a blackened, mildewy, camper with a for sale sign on it. Stopped to check it out and saw that hay was being stored in it. We rescued it from it's demise and towed it home with the PT Cruiser. After completely rebuilding the camper we just couldn't seperate it from it's new tow buddy. We camp light and there have been no problems with the two together.
