We saw a few fiberglass eggs on our trip to Mount Rushmore from Ohio. We saw a Casita, east bound, at the 92 mile marker on I 90 in MN on the 4th, a scamp fifth wheel, east bound at the 312 mile marker on I 90 in SD, the same day. We saw an egg we could not identify from the road, parked in the Bad Lands, near Interior on the 4th, also. It had a small front window. Later in the week, we saw a Casita parked near Rough Neck Falls in Spearfish Canyon.
Thursday, when we were leaving the area and headed home, we pulled into an overlook in the Bad Lands and met theTravelkids on their way to Alaska in their 17 SD. We spend some time touring each others trailers and we learned some mods we will be doing shortly. Safe travels to them as they head to Alaska. Terry R.

Terry R - Glad you saw the post! Hope you enjoyed your trip west to South Dakota! We were at Mount Rushmore/Badlands last July and enjoyed the scenery and history there immensely. Wishing you safe travels for the summer.

Recently my wife and I completed a trip from San Antonio, TX. To Spokane, WA. and back by car. We stopped and looked at many State and Local parks. When we were in Idaho and stopped at the State Park in Winchester. Imagine our surprise when we saw a Casita 17 Sitting in the CAMP HOST spot.
Talking to the owners we found out that they had down sized to the Casita and were very happy with it. They also told us that they had signed up to be the CAMP HOST for two months.
Their spot not only had water and electric, but sewage as well. All the other spots had the power and water, but you had to either leave and move to a dump spot, near town, or empty your black water tank into a little blue tank with wheels, get into your car , truck, or SUV, and dump it at the dump station. A Pain-ITA to say the least.
So you don't need a big house on wheeels to be a CAMP HOST, and as we saw from most camping areas, the HOST spot is a lot better fitted out.
Being a CAMP HOST in a small camper would be easier if there is a town close by, as this State Park very near Winchester, ID. is, as you will probably have to stock up on food a bit more often than the big houses on wheels, but there is no reason you can't do the job.
Small FIBERGLASS EGGS are here to stay, and can do everthing that the HOUSES ON WHEELS can do, except make you go broke as quickly

We just drove past Mogadore Reservoir, in Ohio, on our way home to Brimfield, and saw a Scamp parked in someone's backyard. I couldn't tell if they were owners or had a visitor. Terry R.

That was me and my mother-in-law picking up my wife after her surgery. We went on a two day camping trip with the in-laws up in PA. I tried to talk my wife out of it, but she really wanted to go, and everything went well. She had a good surgeon and good pain meds! She did get the surgeon's blessing before going camping.

Now that's a dedicated camper! Going camping right after being picked up from surgery. Mine had to wait 2 weeks before we went camping.

Saw a dark blue Envoy towing a 13 ft Scamp at about 2:30pm today near Great River Bluffs State Park on County Rd 3 south of Winona, MN. There was an orange sign in the back window of the Scamp that said "Timeout".
