I drove from California’s Central Valley to the Bay Area to Washington’s Long Beach Penninsula and back again this week and only saw three fiberglass trailers the whole trip! I felt cheated! All in CA on I-5 today...what might have been an old red and white 13’ Boler, a newer 17’ Casita, and the most troubling, what appeared to be a new Trillium on northbound I-5 south of Los Banos, sitting unhitched on the side of the road and no tow in site. I was worried and wanted to go check it out, but exits are many miles between. Hope they got their issues resolved!

I know I-5 and Exits are few and far between. But if I had time I would have gone back...but if no tow vehicle was there, what good would it do.? I bet $5 that it was tires. A friend of mine bought a new (conventional) trailer and on the way home blew a tire and wiped out the wheel well, leading to a long fight about whose fault it was. BTW, when I-5 was built there were no towns or service stations on it, the CHP airplane carried gas cans and could land on the highway. Now there are service areas all along it and lots of traffic. Hope your trip was smooth. David in Fresno and Sonora. Scamp 13' and Compact Jr 13' )

Yesterday I saw a Bigfoot 17 pulled by a Chevy with kayaks on the roof, headed south on I-15 getting close to Idaho. In about the same spot I saw an Escape headed north. Lots of Canadians on I-15 on the stretch through Montana.

The manufacturer is Pelsue, located in Colorado. Though there is similarities to the Little Joe/Ponderosa trailers made by Weiscraft in Henderson, Co which is just a few miles from Pelsue, they are completely different trailers, built on an aluminum frame. There are several versions of these trailers.

The trailers are used for fiber optic cable splicing.

Glass is all over the island! Take the dog for a walk, see at least one almost everyday, backyards, used as billboards, business stands,,, crazy!

Summer Sitings

Seems summer travel is in full swing. In my travels from Iowa City Iowa to Davenport this morning I sited 1 Casita and 2 Scamps traveling East and 1 Scamp Traveling West. I also talked to a couple from Burlington Wisc that Have just turned full timers and were on their way from Wisconsin to California and back thru Glacier Park. I will be traveling the opposite direction next week as I am going thru Black Hills to Glacier Park then to California and back. I hope to see more scamps along the way.

Sighted headed south on the Maine Turnpike, a very mossy, greenish Scamp 16. Hoping a new owner is taking it somewhere for some TLC. So wishing we had ours with us! Perfect camping weather.
