Solar Air Conditioning

Small-Scale Solar Powered Air Conditioning Is Here (in Spain, Anyways) : TreeHugger

Build it yourself:

If you are not a mechanically inclined person who pays close attention to details, do not attempt to build one of these units.

These units seem to be using absorption refrigeration. I suspect they are quite expensive, and finicky.
Since a regular 5000 btu window mounted air conditioner uses ~500 watts, an egg could have enough solar power to run the air conditioner. Not cheep either.

You also might have to carry extra water to keep it running, but the fact that it keeps the panels cool is a plus. Good start - hope to see it in trailers in the next ten years.
I don't get lost, I go on interesting side trips.
