We stayed at south stockade when we went to the roundup a few years back. We reserved as early as possible that year. After the roundup we went to the events near the Norbeck center and had fun there. Also traveled out of the park on red clay road, went to the badger hole cabin, drove the Iron mountain road, Needles highway, wildlife loop (saw a big elk herd and a very big male antelope ( I’d say 16 inch) and I’ve looked at thousands, had a good Buffalo burger and a cold Budweiser, and lots of fun.
Fall color was great with yellow aspen and post oak with coniferous trees mixed in. That’s our experience.
