South Dakota Bison roundup ?

I'm just getting around to planning a trip to see the bison round up. I would like to hear recommendations for both campsites and viewing areas. I can boondock but would like electricity if available. I will be using a Scamp 16' towed by an F150. Thanks for the help.

I did go to the roundup in 2023 and again in 2024. I just made my reservation for 2025 camping in South Dakota's Custer state park and even a year out I had trouble finding a site. If you would like to see this great event, start planning now.

We stayed at south stockade when we went to the roundup a few years back. We reserved as early as possible that year. After the roundup we went to the events near the Norbeck center and had fun there. Also traveled out of the park on red clay road, went to the badger hole cabin, drove the Iron mountain road, Needles highway, wildlife loop (saw a big elk herd and a very big male antelope ( I’d say 16 inch) and I’ve looked at thousands, had a good Buffalo burger and a cold Budweiser, and lots of fun. Fall color was great with yellow aspen and post oak with coniferous trees mixed in. That’s our experience.

I had a bison burger meal at Wall drug last year and it came to 34$.
I also very much enjoyed a day at the art festival, lot of high quality items there.
I camped at Sylvan this year but that can involve tunnels. I posted some videos at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvI...gTmUzTg/videos

We were thru there 4-6 years ago. The Dakotas are great. So many neat things.

Saw Wall Drug signs forever, stopped there, I couldn't get away fast enough.

Nothing better than the good things the good Lord has made.
