Stink Bug Catcher

This is not about campers, but it might be of interest to someone......

I have heard that some areas have a big problem with " Stink Bugs " ....while we do not have this problem I did think this was neat from a DIY kind of project and it is cheap!

You know I wonder if it would work for other types of bugs. Anyway, just thought I would pass this along.

Happy Camping.....Lynn

If you can go OT in General Chat, I don't know where you could. Neato link Lynn!

Similar to "Cheers" format, don't take anything too seriously. Come hang out, meet your friends.

Oh Stink bugs!
Those critters are amazing. And not in a good way. Last October we camped in central, south Jersey, in the pine barrens. It was really lovely, but those bugs were everywhere.
Now, I am still finding them in my trailer. Alive. They made it through the winter, and are still crawling around. They don't bite or annoy you in any way, except when they fly into you, but I don't know what makes them so hardy.

That is really an ingenious idea for a stink bug trap. We live way out in the woods in Pa and they invade the house late fall to get inside out of the cold.... they stay indoors all winter until spring and then they are trying to find a way out of the house. crush just one with a paper towel and you will never do that again as you can't get the stink off your fingers.... Listerine wash helps.
The only chemical that helps for about two weeks is "Talstar Pro" but a quick help in the fall when they are outside trying to get in is a mix of Dawn Regular dish detergent (the blue stuff) and water.... (put enough dawn in the water to give it a blue haze)
I've noticed they are drawn to light and that link is a very good idea. I have a pest control company (Ehrlich) that does the house and said there is no way they know of to get rid of them....Talstar Pro works for a short while and must be re-applied. These things are spreading like crazy and will not hurt you...... they just stink awful bad when they think they are being attacked.
Good Link.... Thanks,
Joe
