Take Me Camping, Daddy!

Weather has been unseasonably warm across the Southwest recently. Then my daughter hands me this out of the blue. Think she's trying to tell me something?…

Cool Jon! That's much, much better than refrigerator art! Now, when are you taking her camping?

That's awesome! I have a 4 1/2 year old girl that has started to draw camper trailers as well. So cool!

It's time to;
1) Buy a frame for that priceless picture, and mount it in your trailer.
2) Pack the trailer for an adventure.
Your daughter is very wise about what is really important.

They always tell us artists- "Paint what you love!". We can see that love here loud and clear
There's slso a great deal of natural talent waiting to be nurtured in your daughter's wonderful little crayon drawing, as well. Cherish it and promote it! As a painter myself, I would like to suggest encouraging your girl's obvious creative gifts and maybe give her some student quality (from an art store, not toy store) materials to take along camping with you. They need not be expensive or take a lot of room. You may have a great Plein Air Painter honing her skills as a landscape artist on those happy Scamp Tramps with you in the near future! Enjoy!

Okay, nice, but did you get the message and give her the right answer?

Take Me Camping, Daddy!

Thanks, all! Yes, the picture is framed, but it's in her bedroom (where she wanted it) and yes, we do encourage art while we travel.

Right now we're still waiting for repairs to our tow vehicle following a rear end collision over a month ago, but we hope to be back up and camping soon. We're all itching to get out somewhere. It's the mild weather.

Adorable! I'm glad you framed it. Maybe she'll let you take it in the trailer when you go camping.

I found this coloring book (available on Amazon). It looks like your daughter could illustrate her own book. I'm going to encourage our daughter to create an art "diary" of our travels in the Scamp.
