The Caché of Scamping

Thought I would share.

While we are upsizing to another FG trailer (Escape 19) later this year the caché of “Scamping” will not soon be forgotten...

Carolyn surprised me with a commissioned illustration capturing some of our Scamping life on the road.

Looks like I may need to edit my signature line re: Scamping soon. ;-)

Cheers,

Bat Dude & family

Love, love, love!!!! Norman Rockwell-esque in how the artist captured so much of what made Scamping special for you and distilled it into one light-hearted vignette.

Scamp corporate might offer a little something for the rights to use it. Very nice.

...As if they need a longer backlog!

PS, I misunderstood, thinking Carolyn had created it.

Fo tru! as we used to say in Belize.

She is a talented young artist who did this for us. She is the same one who did the "cartoon" of Esmé last year that I think I posted.

She has an MFA in art/illustration from the San Francisco Art Institute.
She recently completed illustrating a children's book “Cami Kangaroo Has Too Many Sweets!"

She does accept commissions for pets and now trailers too etc..

You can look for her FB page:
Rebecca Sinclair Illustration

We may eventually need an updated one with our new Escape once we "break it in" LOL.

Cheers,
Bat Dude

Thank you for sharing, Bat Dude! You have trained that bat quite well to make him pose for you, as well as everybody else to pose for the artist. That is a very nice drawing.

The Escape 19 will be as good as the Scamp for you, I am sure. Just joking. (Comparisons to be made on a separate thread, if necessary, thanks.) Keep your travel notes coming.

Did you mean cachet? (My apologies for being anal.)

Great piece of artwork!

In the words of John Prine. Just don't let them slip away.

Memories they can't be boughten
They can't be won at carnivals for free
Well it took me years
To get those souvenirs
And I don't know how they slipped away from me

The tow vehicle looks Ford Flex-like. If so, are you planning to reuse it to tow the Escape 19?

Revised:
Checked your profile..you are indeed towing with a Flex, as I am. I have been investigating such an Escape combination but thought it might be a bit marginal. But I don't know if you were planning on keeping the Flex.

My previous registration (in VT) only had room for four letters, so they made my Scamp into a SCAM. And my license plate was ANT271.

I dare say that is very common.

As long as we allow ourselves to have some fun at the expense of the bureaucrats, my new registration, from Colorado DMV, says Make: EVEN. Maybe EVEL (short for Eveland's) would sound too much like EVIL? Maybe it was already used for some other make. Who knows.

Looking at the title and registration for my Toyota, one says TOYT and one says TOYO. Not only can the government not agree, but with all the taxes I pay you would think they could afford six characters!

PS. Sorry to go off topic.. I absolutely love that art work. I might even contact her about a custom piece.

Love the artwork you shared BatDude!
I remember seeing my first fruit bat (sadly in captivity), but I learned to appreciate them.
Also, bats are responsible for helping revive the rain forest. And if it weren't for bats we'd have a much worse mosquito problem.
Hope my facts are correct.
