I was just looking over the forum for an example of a time when Pete helped us. I found one that was Kevin asking about a taillight on our UHaul not working. Pete repeated 3 times to check the grounding. We left on Friday for a camping trip with a rear light still not working; the grounding still is not right. Thanks to Pete, Kevin knew it was the grounding.
He will be missed. He has already been missed.

I remember reading a comment Pete made about his cancer, and followed up on a link he gave to the oral cancer forum where, as on this forum, he used his own experiences to help others. I was shocked to read what he was living with. The helpful, valuable contributions he made to FGRV gave little hint of his personal battle. As with everyone, I will miss his knowledge and help, always appreciating his contributions. I too am sorry to not have met him, and had no idea he lived so close.

Condolences and prayers to his loved ones.

Penney

Pete was always able to give great advice and to describe a situation with a true understanding of the details. May he rest in peace. rb

Loss of Pete

To Pete's family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss. I only knew him through this forum, but he was caring and knowledgeable and always ready to share his expertise.

This is saddening news to me.

When we bought our Scamp 13 in 2005 and I started posting newbie questions here and in the Scamp forum, Pete would always be there to lend a valuable and, as I learned as the years went on, correct opinion on the issue under discussion.

When we went to our first Oregon Gathering Pete said he was coming, but later was unable to make it, and I recall how disappointed I was as I so wanted to meet this knowledgeable and well-spoken person.

He will be missed. Profoundly.

Fortunately Pete's advice and opinions live on.
I was searching for forums on power converters the other day and ran across his answers.
He'll be remembered a long time.

Pete Dumbleton Memorial

I recently thought of Pete and found his memorial had been added to the Find A Grave website. I found his interesting obituary and added it. Here's the link for all of us who remember him and his valuable contribution to RVing: Peter Henry Dumbleton (1943 - 2010) - Find A Grave Memorial

We owe Pete a debt of gratitude for coining the phrase "Rat Fur." What other possible word could we even think of that brings forth such emotion.

You will forever be missed Pete!
